This has been an interesting and informative last 2 days.

I can only say as a novice, 4 years at Glamis, I like the fact that this conversation and information exchange has run it's course. (FOR NOW)

It was tiring ....

I do thank all the orgs. that are working so hard to keep our dunes open for me, my family and hopefully one day, my grand kids. I realize it's not a perfect science and the POLITICS involved in this craziness makes it that much more difficult.

I am PROUD to be a member of this board..... not to mention be a part of SLAPPY'S ARMY.... and yes I know that I belong over in the PI forum.

DUNERS UNITE......... KEEP OUR DUNES OPEN......LET'S RIDE.

A big thanks to all the mods and admin. on this board too..... drinkup.gif smokin.gif

I think the big flare-up is over... for now.

I think a few people have gained new interest and insight into some of the issues facing us. I think that is a really good thing.

I HOPE people will continue to voice their concerns and question anything they don't understand. Between some of the threads there are a few email addresses and meeting info, etc. ...good venues to get real answers to real questions... I think we need to collect up a lot of the questions around here and get'm answered thumb.gif

I HOPE at some point the duning community can see all of our orgs working together equally on one common issue thumb.gif

I'd like to re-iterate SBs thanks to the orgs and this board drinkup.gif

I stumbled across this discussion while looking for one of my favorite posters in the "who's on line" section. I picked a thread that was looking like a slap at the ASA and it got my dander up. What was even more shocking is that I agreed with most of what people were saying, (on both sides of the issue) but I could not figure out was "right." Ignorance was blooming in my head… And I did not like it.

So, on the advice of others, I started to read. I spent hours going through old posts and reading all the ASA web site info. This helped, but there is still more to learn. BUT, to my satisfaction I learned that the "core" issue was still the same. "Save the Dunes" and re-open the closed areas. To my dissatisfaction I discovered that "we" were all over the place on the other stuff…Sorta running in place… Scary.

I love a good debate but with that said, I think this forum is a place for answers above opinion. Again, "speak and ye shall be heard" but I want answers too. And man oh man, did I get what I asked for… And I thank each and every one of you! Notworthy.gif

I think if we use our "core" issue to "unite" us, all the other stuff will take care of itself. I promise to do a better job of keeping abreast of the "goings on" within the ASA and the other orgs as much a possible. I will also do my part in supporting "my" passion, which is assuring there will be money for the legal defense fund that will fight on my behalf in the courts.

In truth, the storm "may" be over... Or this could be the eye of a hurricane if we are not careful. blink.gif

Or... the fire has simply burned down to the most useful part... the glowing coals.
