My son has a KFX 50 which is just not running right I think.

We were up at Mammoth and it would only do 15mph. It seemed to be running fine, but this quad just never seems to reach the 25 mph I was told it would do.

I already took out all the restrictors I know of including the one at the exhaust header, the carb. inlet and the throttle restrictor screw.

Is there something else that would be holding it back?

I should mention that it went through water a couple trips ago and Im SURE it sucked water, but I got it running again. But it seemed to lack power from takeoff and could barely make it up a hill...

could it seem to be running fine yet be broken/damaged?

Could it have been the altitude?
