Jeepers and 4x4ers are really not the worst culprits as far as habitat destruction goes. It's really the dirt bikers and ATVers who just ruin land for the fun of it. I look upon Access as driving to get somewhere, but dirt bikers want to tear up the land for exercize. Do jeepers do this? I haven't seen this, though I have seen jeepers driving across open land with no trail.

I see the Jeep community is smart too! They don't like him any better than we do. It took them all of about 2 minutes to figure out he's full of crap and a troublemaker.

No, I don't see any reason for you to be here but to cause trouble for off road enthusiasts. This forum is for Jeep enthusiasts. Since you don't have a Jeep and you don't use ORVs, you could only have one intention as far as I'm concerned. Since I hold you suspect, it will be a very long time before I would continue any more exchanges with you. I don't trust you, and I'm not going to provide you a means to get practice at disgracing our sport. I would encourage the rest of the members of this forum to do the same.

You know, when he first showed up over at the ASA board I was still heavily involved over there. He was having a lucid moment and I actually became hopeful that an honest-to-goodness environmentalist had wandered in and would be willing to participate in open, frank discussions. I worried that others would be intolerant and actually tried to keep that from happening (I know, I know).
But right about the time he started telling me about his personal incidents involving off roaders his lucid period ended and the real Internet Troll emerged. He was, I must say, my very first experience with the phenomenon and he set a shining example for all other Internet Trolls I would come across.
This humble, toe-in-the-dirt, gee gosh golly can I come play attitude is his method of operation and in fact is a trait shared by all Internet Trolls. Win the trust and sympathy of the crowd and then take off the mask and let the games begin.
Fortunately, many are more savvy than I was when I first stumbled over the rock he tumbled out from under so his bridges are burning more quickly than ever.
Will he get bored and go away? The bad news is no, he will not. He has a deep-seated hatred of off roaders (hate is not too strong a word... look it up BS) due to some very personal encounters with them and as unhealthy as it is to harbor such hatred, he's not going to let it go.
His day is made when he can get someone to respond to him. For a few brief moments he's allowed to hang with the cool kids again and that's what makes his world spin around. To an Internet Troll, any kind of attention, even negative attention, is better than no attention.

I just had a horrifying thought: Maybe Bluesky is one of those masochistic freaks who gets off on abuse. Maybe he's sitting home with a box of tissues reading the day's crop of insulting e-mails on all the OHV forums.

Bluesky is practicing the eons-old battle plan: Divide and Conquer.
Go sweet on the jeepsters and blast the rest of the OHV community. Indirectly confirm that their form of recreation is more legitimate than all the others. Then get them to agree how their sport is the most benign and to finger-wag at the duning crowd.
This is a classic battle and propaganda tactic. Firearms Owners deal with this tactic frequently and, unfortunately, it works. The shotgun crowd sneers at the semi-auto rifle owners, the rifle owners think handgun owners are homicidal idiots with a phallic complex. But the anti-GUN nazis put these thoughts into motion. Separate a segment, vilify it while soothing the remaining groups and, after the isolated group is crushed, cut another hunk out from the herd and start all over.
There is no difference between Access and Use. If your wheels touch dirt, it's all the same. I have "jeeped" in southeast San Diego County and Yucca Valley. If you make your own trail, you run a good chance of wrecking your rig or personal injury. No comparison at all to the dunes.
Anybody who recreates by having their wheels touch dirt need to band as a unified force. This includes mountain bikers and, yes, even equestrians (who have 2 enemies after them, the greens and the animal rights groups).

The "divide and conquer" strategy of enviros is alive and well and not just trying to pit the jeep community against the duners.
signonsandiego The fly fishers do it differently than the bait and lure folks. So, although fly fishing is still in the minority, they get the State to reduce the bait and lure guys reason for being out there fishing. Hey, nowadays getting the State to stop spending money? A no-brainer.
The enviros egg on the fly people; knowing that Mr. and Mrs. Bait and Lure will be squeezed out with higher fees and licenses, lower limits, shorter seasons, and less places to fish.
When the Fly Guys win (notice the general fishing population is now much smaller and weaker through reduced voting populations), the enviros swoop in and finish them off. Mr. and Mrs. Bait and Lure probably joined PETA just to get even with the Flyers for ruining the majority of fishing and, might I add, a large segment of this State's outdoor recreational pursuits.
Treachery is a profoundly effective form of warfare because it destroys the soul of resistance. I wonder if L.L. Bean sells a Fly Fishing knife for sticking in other fishermens' backs?

once again in the feeble attempt to be humble, and so conservative, blu has shone that he is in fact as fake as they come. because if you really think about it, whether your in a jeep, truck, ATV, dirt bike, or just walking, you are still messing with some sort of natural resource. So no matter what we, as humans, may do with our extracurricular activites, it will never ever please any greenie anywhere!!!!
as far as there concerned, everyone that owns an "OFF-ROAD" vehicle, are spawns of satan, and should be wiped off the face of the earth...........
