DOH!!!!
LovesDunes
I have lots of "before" pictures I will post as soon as we get the green light. Still waiting on a diagnosis from our tranny guy. We know reverse is gone. Checking bearings and any other gears for cracking.
LovesDunes
OK Here we go. The tranny had a wasted reverse gear and the little parts traveled around in the tranny but did not do too much damage. We will clean up the gears and replace the nose cone and all will be fine. As long as he is nice to it the tranny it should last a long time. Here are some before shots of the car before we strip it down for powder and a few other changes. We will keep you all posted on the progress.

Finally off to powder coat. Still waiting on the trunk. With the recent events things are a bit slow getting done in the sheet metal world. But we will be able to get it there in time for the color to go on. Still need to get you a price on the sheetmetal color. Dang. Bad day at work. I will try to get in touch with him tomorrow.
Headinjury
Got any pics of the Motor?
LovesDunes
I will get some tomorrow in the sun for you. The new cover looks nice. The two idler pulleys don't really stand out but it's a nice subtle touch. The other pulley is for the power steering pump. Will post pictures of the wheels as I get them polished. Plus pictures of the other items as I get them cleaned up.
LovesDunes
Here are some engine pictures with your new cover...

I am learning that I need to more of a jerk to get things done with some people. It's been a hard lesson. Unfortunately it's the customer that ends up on the loosing end. We have had lots of cars come and go through the shop as of late without a hitch. Then we get two that kick my a$$. You will end up with a great car though Shawn.
Lucky

Good Morning,

Here are some possible layouts for your gauges...

Let me know what you prefer.

Esco
2nd one
WildBill
Third one because of steering wheel covering things up. I think you need to put it on first then look at the layout.

HOW ABOUT OUT THE TACH ON THE RIGHT AND THE PRESSURE GAGES ON THE LEFT?

Im thinking Im with LD.

Pete, what about the tach on the right , then the 3 gauge cluster on the left? Like #3.

LovesDunes
My only concern with that, and it's probably just me, but I drive with my left hand on the wheel almost 100% and shift with my right. So there is a better chance of glancing at the gauges as you shift. Or if you drive with your hand resting on the shifter. If your left arm is blocking the tach it's not nearly as bad as if your left arm were covering the oil pressure, water temp, and volts. The tach is not as important to see as the other gauges. I will poke holes how ever you want.

OK! but are you doing idiot lights? I'd rather see the tach when i'm shifting, (left hand on the wheel & right hand on the shifter) Looking in middle for RPM's and idiot lights!

The gages are just trivial info (read BLING) that you can check when you have time ...

If you give a driver gages it will slow them down! give him Bright lights and he'll pay attention! thumb.gif
LovesDunes
I agree with the idiot light thing. Good point. Shawn, do you want them? Tach and lights on the right, 3 gauges on the left?

What idiot lights are prefered? Am I thinking too much about this? This is just a sand car for playing. Not hard core racing or anything.

Headinjury
Good Points by both of you. Ok I like #3

Well you are lucky in that I am the one doing the work on this one. After powder and electrical it's smooth sailing. No body else to make any more excuses as to why things are not getting done. Wish I could have been there for two other cars as well.

#3 was what you choose...
