Slappy
Slappy was cruisin da neighborhood wearin his walkmen headphones and rockin out to Barry Manilows 'Mandy'. It be weird when Slappy hear dat song, cuz he always reminisce about Mother Glamis. It give da Slapster chills, "Oh Mother G...you kiss Slap and stop him from shaken, and Slap never be leavin...OOOHHHH Mother G... Damn, Slappy gettin a tear. Anyway, back to da story. As Slappy roll along, he saw somethin dat he ain't seen for quite some time. On da side of one of the houses stood a huge Oak Tree, and from that Oak Tree hung a tree swing. Watta sight dat was. At dat moment, a light scent of jasmine caught Slappy's nose, and thats when da memories came rushin home. Slappy remember way back in da day when he used to swing from a rope dat was attached to an Oak Tree just like dat one, eat watermelon, drink Frescas, and dream of ridin in da desert. At da same time, Slapps Pappy would work on da bikes in da garage. Slappy just couldn't wait for summer to end, that means it be ridin time. Oh them summer nights, Slappy remember them well.

As Slappy slip off da headphones, he couldn't help but think, "What if those days of innocence hadn't happen da way that they did for Slap? Would Slappy be enjoyin all da happiness dat he have in his life right now? If Slappy's Pappy never put up dat swing and bought Slap dat QA50, would Slappy have found Mother G"? For Slappy, it all started right there on that swing.

Slappy couldn't help but wonder if there be a kid enjoyin dat swing, and dreamin of ridin in da desert with every 'swoop' of da rope. Just at that moment, da garage door opened, and a young lad came runnin out at full speed towards that Oak Tree. Slappy slowly put da headphones back on and began to stroll on by da house. A quick glance into the garage gave da Slapster a big smile; there, in da middle of da garage stood a KX80 equipped with a paddle tire, and Barry just sang along...

Hey Slappy, Luv the stories ya tell. But I like the rest of us can relate to your stories. Now that I have kids, I hope that they will be able to share in the many memories that we have had and will have at Mother G. Its such a great place to share with others.

But one thing really makes me sad, when I do sit and think/day dream about Mother G. Is all of the other people/kids out in the world that may never get to enjoy her the way all of us do.

My 2 girls were raised out at Mother G from diapers, the first one was even conceived there, but that's another story... user posted image

My youngest (10) was soooooo excited around Christmas time, She said "Daddy, only 5 more days...."
I said to her, "But Christmas is in 4 more days???"

She said, "No, till I get to take my 2 best friends to Glamis with me"

It put a big smile on my face.... user posted image

Thats VERY interesting Slap. Now I have to ask my daughter a question. She has an Odyssey and it's parked right out by her swing. I wonder if she is on the swing for the ide or just sits there to be out by the Od.

Dat be one Baaary Interesting story, Slappy. I got goosebumps alllll ooover on that! To all the boardsters here, I am now currently wondrin if my hubby, the Duuuude you (most all of ya's) know, may be the Slappster. It could be too uncanny about the oaks and childhood, and the tree swing and all, and stranger things are pure coincidence; However that story rang real familiar here.

Not only do the childhood memories sound familiar, but our pending house has many oaks, and a tree swing, and a bike to be in the garage, just like the Duuuude's childhood. Slappy, if you show up to Kennie's, you gotta whisper in my ear if it's you, OK? I gotta know if my hubby's livin a double life, or pure coincidence! Too eerie! Should I confront Duuude? Hmmmm...

Great story Slap! Barry Manilow? Who's that. Here in the big state of Texas, I believe that was Hank Williams and the big Oak Tree swing. Anyway, good one Slappy. Peace
