Well, YumaDuners have been too lazy about our dinners and BBQ's for too long. And I'm itching for some sand.

Found out from Amy that there's going to be a meteor shower this coming friday so I'm thinking it's a great excuse for a Buttercup BBQ and a little stargazing from the sand. I've yet to be dissapointed by a meteor shower at the dunes and if you've never seen one it's something special. Heck even when it rained a few summers ago for this one I got some neat shots:




And the new Buffalo Wild Wings just opened at the new Yuma Palms mall and walking past it the other day it sure looked like the perfect place to hold a Duner Dinner.

So it sounds like I'll be out this coming friday at Buttercup even if no one else shows up - but the invite is open to all. The dinner we'd have to set a date so I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any.

even with the site up, www.yumaduners.com there didn't seem to be a lot of activity, i've been lurking there for a couple years. i'd be interested in meeting other yuma duners, i'm returning to the sand, after several years of "other stuff getting in the way". all the boats are back in the water, the harleys are back on the street, it is finally time to get the sand toys all resurrected, the street rod will have to wait. do you have an email list to work from? or was the web site the main communication?

The YumaDuners site is down right now, it got hacked a few months back and I've been too busy to get around to putting it back up...I want to and we haven't abandoned it....just been real busy and with it being summer it's been a lower priority.

I'm still up for any BBQ's or other get togethers if others are though. And I'm pretty sure that at least Matt and Glenn would try to make it as well. We've always been real informal and all it takes is someone setting a time and place for a get together.
