I love my lifan and I have not had any honda engine keep up with me yet ....

These look slick! Tres, you never mentioned the deal with the footpegs?? Do the lifans have the same threaded holes in the bottom of the case for the footpegs to bolt on?

Rotz - first, as it wasn't clear from your thread, did you have to drill and tap your Lifan flywheel for the bolt hole for the recoil basket, or were some threaded holes in the flywheel already from the factory? Second, Did you TRX side cover bolt right up to the lifan case after you machined it out a bit on the inside for the flywheel?

Thanks... I'm considering doing this instead of the electric start version for weight. Also then you wouldn't have to mod the exhaust pipe around the electric start motor...

Dang little money pits...

Here is a pic of how I modded the footpegs to work.

[attachmentid=91806]

The piece in the middle is 3" long

notice the marks made on the bracket which were made prior to die grinding the honda welds
to free the pegs from the bracket.

One mark down the middle for allignment ( side to side )

and 2 flat type grind marks at the very top of each side to keep the angle right.

I used a 3/4" bolt for the middle piece.

These have held up very well considering we jump, rock climb and any thing else we can think of to abuse these bikes, and thats with riders of about 240 lbs as well

On edit: wanted to add that this mod is necessary in order to clear the side case's of the Lifan
I did not amend or use the heal guard portion of the pegs , but it would not be hard to make them work

And yes the bracket bolts right up to the Lifan no problem.

I love my electric start 110. It's my favorite trike to ride.

Have any of you guys tried one of the race ready CDI's on your aftermarket motors? I was wondering if it's worth the money.

anyone know if they make a Lifan 110 or 125 with kick start and no clutch that fits in our 70's?

Edit: with manual shift, not automatic shift. I don't want to run a clutch lever.

with all the "how do I do a lifan 110" questions, this should be a sticky or pinned.

my $0.02

Very helpful thread.
