Well I told you all to leave it stock but nooooooo.....
I gots to fiddle.....
I am ordering the airbox kit from Gary at Esuperbikes today.
You can either a) wait for my review on the thing or...

call an order one or
c) try to figure it out on your own or
d) take your bike to Ron Woods and have him custom install a TM42 Carb
for the thing approx 400.00
Gary seems to think his Airbox kit will solve the popping problem
if it does 100.00 is well spent.
It's more than just the airbox it also has to do with the float adjustment a lighter needle spring and also has instructions and a special drill bit to drill holes in the slide to reduce weight and provide for snappier throttle response. Above and beyond that I have spent at least a couple of hours on the phone with Gary himself so it's not like he sells you something and then say's " Good Luck" hope it helps..... He is as anxious as you are to get your bike running right. I'll keep you all posted as to my progress.
And yes I did try to run with stock jetting ...Bike popped that is why I started trying to figure out the jetting.... best setup to date was ....
157.5 main, clip in 3rd, snorkel completely removed even the rubber grommet.... K& N filter with the prefilter removed... and of course I have the white bos. slip on. with all 9 disc's
However this setup does not in my mind give enough protection from the sand.
Gary has a 580 kit coming ... but I am going to concentrate on getting this thing running correctly before proceeding.
Also a 38 tooth rear sprocket helps in the sand ..... I would not mess with the counter sprocket as it is already 14 tooth and I feel 13 teeth is too tight of a turn for an o-ring chain which put's undue pressure on the counter shaft. I have a 39 tooth sprocket I have not tryed yet ....would like to get to a 40 ... as changing the front sprocket 1 tooth is equivalent to adding 3 in the rear...so I've heard stock gearing is 14/37
All in all this is one sweet bike ...but it's a first year bike ...there will be things that we will go thru that next year owners won't have to ... it's just the nature of "The Beast"
