Thats what it seems like to me though I admittidly only watched one interview.

I caught a show called basecamp on the National Geographic Channel last night. I only caught about 10 minutes of it but what I saw was a joke. The interviewer was interviewing Leslie James Pickering, spokesman for the E.L.F. This guy looks to be between twenty and twenty five years old. How he became the "spokesman", I don't know but he obviously was about as brainwashed as a man could be.

He stated that he first started his path as a teenager writing letter campaigns but didn't think that did any good. He then started joining in those protests where the protesters set out to get arrested by impeding progress till he figured out that was a silly way to get things done (Bravo Einstein). Thats when he got involved with the E.L.F.

When asked how he was educated, he told the interviewer that his education came from schooling and the information that was delivered by "Mainstream Enviromental Groups". It doesn't sound to me like this kid has done any research into anything. He relies on what maistream enviro groups (I assume the Sierra Club, C.B.D, and the like) shove into his mind. The word sheeple comes to mnd.

The interviewer asked him if he had ever started anything on fire and Leslie replied that he had started a camp fire. He hadn't taken part in any of the car and building burnings because his place was as a spokesman, someone in the public eye. Way to go Leslie, let the sheep that follow your every word jump on the grenade.

When asked why he agrees with the violent nature of what E.L.F. does, he insisted that if a paint company was going to pollute the river which in turn was going to give his grandparents cancer, then that paint company needed to be stopped and since big business won't police themselves in a proper manner (Seems he has decided all by himself what is the proper way to go about policing business), groups like E.L.F. are right in blowing up the business. The interviewer then asked him why was he convinced that people get cancer from polluted rivers or paint or whatever when science hasn't proven a link between the two. Good ol Lesie replied that he does't need a scientist to draw a line for him, he can see it with his own two eyes.

It scares me that a terrorist organizaion like E.L.F. has people like this guy working for them. When asked why he feels he has the ability to speak for the E.L.F. when he is at the age where he wouldn't be trusted to manage a walmart, he just smiled.

 you know, as scary as that sounds, the scariest part is that, more and more kids are joinging things of that nature everyday, and they feel that they are being righteous........and that is a sad thing icon_sad.gif rollsmile.gif

I agree that something needed to be done. I believe that those things are being done and being done by the business's themselves. With the many certifications required, the recycling programs in affect, and the pro-active stance taken by many of the biggest companies, I think that they are doing a great job of policing themseves, not that they did such a good job in recent past.

I in no way agree with the E.L.F., the courses they take to get their point across, or their stances on the enviroment.

Which is exactly why groups like the CBD, SC, TNC, WWF, and others need to be put on a very short leash. Just take a look at how much money they pull in vs. how much actually goes towards "saving the environment" and it's obvious that these groups are more interested in the money than the mission.

Funny, even though they make more money than most of the companies they fight against they still claim to be "grass roots" fighting against big business. Too bad the big business is out gunned financially by the very people claiming that money is evil.
Rooster
A terrorist is a terrorist. They should be delt with all in the same.
Extremist are the same. They think they can force their garbage on us all.
It's a free country but there should be limits to these kind and they should not have the freedom to do their dirty deeds. How much monies have been waisted because of these fools. How much money has the lie and false info on rhe PMV cost. How many people has this one case affected. It's all to the same terror tacktics. It's about money, yes, it's also about control. Isay they should all be looked at and these groups be put on alert that the real American people have had enough and their terror time is getting close to a end. I don't have all the articals to CUT AND PASTE like someone we know but they are there. I say give them inviro jerks a place in this world, send them all to a country where you don't have a choice and the freedom. Go there and try their stupid land grabbing and see how long they last.
JET
The ELF should share their knowledge in how to blow up and burn things without releasing toxins into the environment.
