I am on my second Odyssey battery in less than a year, and while it has been good lately, I need to get rid of it for peace of mind. Talk of all the recent failures got me motivated to make the change before I got left hanging. Also, Funco says fucno to the Odyssey.

Problem is, the Interstate that I have used in the past is a tad bigger than the shiat battery, so it won't fit in the box that Funco fabs in their Gen 4 cars.

I made a tray that bolts in on top of the stock tray to hold an Interstate DCS-33, that way, no cutting and welding is needed. Here are some pics. I used 1.5" angle because that is all I had on hand, I think that 1" would work just fine and look better.

We had the same conversation today . An adaptor box to put a tried and true DCS 33 in as a replacement.

We have just had to many failures recently with the Odyssey.

As soon as we get the Regatta behind us we will be making up boxes for the changeover.

Funny thing is the first 5 to 10 Gen 4's had Interstates and I made a decision to step up to a "real batttery". I pretty much stepped on my dork with that one .

Not the first time and won't be the last !!

Has anyone tried contacting Odyssey about this problem? Maybe they will step-up and address the issue.

Anyway, I thought Interstate owns Odyssey. When I ordered my Odyssey battery, it was delivered by Interstate Batteries.

We have an Optima and never had problems! 25cheers.gif

Interstate distributes other lines, as well as their own. From the conversation that I had with the Interstate guy, I assumed that Odyssey was a different company. They even had Optima batteries on display, I was told that it was not an Interstate product, and he said that they have the same problem as the Odyssey.

As far as contacting Odyssey......they know good and well about this problem! I was told by a friend of a friend icon_biggrin.gif , that the Odyssey guy was a real ..............
sorry, can't say that here.
