ok i know one of my next mods for my banshee to get a little more HP im thinking of putting new reed valves in my bike. if any of you are out there that have some what is a good brand for banshees and something that can be ran with stock carbs. dont have the money for the carbs yet. just want something that adds alittle more HP to get me fat butt up the hill quicker and beat my bro on his banshee cuz we are neck to neck right now.

Delta V-Force are excellent reeds.

ESR has some really awesome 8-pedal reeds, but I don't know if they make them for Banshees.

If money is a problem, just get some Boyesens.

An online website did a buildup of a banshee awhile ago and they dyno'd each step. Boyson reeds added no horsepower. The delta force reeds added close to two which is the set they used. They also put in a timing key that either advanced or retarded the timing which added 1 horsepower. $20 for 1 extra horsepower is pretty good in my buck.

Vito's timming key That would be my choice for a mid season edge

TAPER BORE YOUR CARBS. IT RUNS ABOUT 35.00 A CARB AND ADD SOME REEDS. BOYSEN IS GOOD THEY ARE REAL SNAPPY. I LIKE TDR CABON FIBER MYSELF :dis: :dis: . IV'E NEVER TRIED THE DELTA ONES SO I CAN'T COMMENT ABOUT THEM.

dune demon who does the "taper boring" and what type of horsepower does that give you? never heard of that process... explian more please.
Shane-0
They take your carbs and bore the insides of them(bigger) to flow more air. In the process, they can give it a slight taper which speeds the air up, which allows more air to be forced in to the engine. With more air, you can add more fuel, which adds more HP.

Scott, with your set-up, you should definately try the V-Force reeds. I can guarantee you wouldnt be dissappointed.
Valkema
I run V-force on my banshee. I have no regrets buying them. My buddy at poway motorsports told me on the dyno they are the only reeds that increased the HP on the banshee, but like they say only a few HP.

PLACES LIKE CT DO TAPER BORE. I'M SURE ALBA AND OTHERS DO TAPER BORE . icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif

what are the VForce reed valves running pricewise. also how long time wise does it take to install? and do you know if i have to make any changes to the carbs?(jettin wise)
Valkema
They ran at about $280 at poway motorsports wharehouse, but I got mine for 230 with my buddys discount  . It should take about a 1 1/2 hours to do the whole job. I don't think rejetting is a issue with them either. At least I never rejetted mine, and never had a problem.
Yamiboy
whats the direction to poway motorsports wharehouse cuz i work up there off of community road.
Valkema
Its on the corner of Poway road and Midland road. There number is (858)513-2444.
Yamiboy
