A friend of mine needs tranny work to get his Warrior going again. Third gear is gone. He was quoted $800.00 to $1,200.00 to get it fixed.

Recommendations?

Thanks!

pulling a motor, splitting the cases isn't going to be cheap anywhere. i'm guessing if it's never been apart that's not all that needs to be replaced. if it were me, i'd get a manual and tear it down myself, only fix what is broken. unfortunatly the bike is not worth sinking a bunch of money in, it's under powered and under suspended. the only thing they have going for them is they are tanks when it comes to abuse. basically it's served it's purpose, done it's job. probably time to move on to a new one. fix what's broke and keep it for a back up. i know that's not the answer you're looking for, if they say $1200 it'll be more like 2k by the time you're done doing all the recommended stuff, and you still have 20 yr old technology.
