I have a Polaris 250 Trailblazer that has just been rebuilt as it fried a piston. Turns out the oil injector pump failed and the fuel wasn't being mixed with the oil so she leaned out and lunched the motor. My dilemma now is do I leave the injector pump disconnected and just mix the oil and fuel and take the potential for injector failure out of the picture, or should I purchase a new injector pump and return it to its' factory configuration? Give me your best advise and what a proper oil to fuel mixture should be should I decide to premix myself. Thanks alot for your help Glamis Duners!

Yank the injector!! Pre-mix is the only way to go. With a quality oil(Spectro, maxima, bel-ray, yamalube,etc..) 40:1 is a nice round #.

That seems to be the common problem with the polaris. Chances are if you replace the injector its just going to fail again. I would stick to premixing it myself. More reliable that way. icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks for the responses so far. Sounds like premix is the way to go. Now, I have to tell you the fellas down at the Polaris dealership put hte fear of God into you about using any other oil than their Polaris brand oil. I'm thinking that Amsoil, Golden Spectra, and Maxim is every bit as good, am I right? I'm thinking 32:1 with Golden Spectra or should I stick with the Polaris oil? Thanks again everyone!

32:1 with Golden Spectro should work just fine. However, if they are that adamant about using the Polaris oil, use it.

Am I going to need to change the jetting if I go to a premix concentration rather than allowing the the injector to mix the oil and fuel?
