I wrote this to Senator Thomas, I hope it helps. Please let me know what kind of verbage i should write to our Senators. It would be helpful.
I would Like to say how proud I am of a Senator That is willing to take a stance for what is fair. I think that your act (S.369, The Listing and Delisting Reform Act of 2003) makes sense. I have been following The Situation in AZ on the Pierson’s Milkvetch plant. Due to a certain environmentalist group 49,000 acres of my favorite dune system was closed to OHV use without scientific study. This is in addition to 32,000 acres already set aside as a Federal Wilderness Area for species preservation. In a resent study conducted by Dr. Phillips of Flagstaff, AZ showed this closure to be unwarranted due to an abundance of the plant life in question both in closed and open areas. this closure effected a large population of OHV enthusiasts most of which respect the plants within this dune system. I have been enjoying the same dunes since 1970 and have not seen any change in depletion of the dunes plant life. I think the Imperial Sand Dunes are the poster child for your Act. Thanks again.
