Second trip out in my car and I'm finally starting to get the hang of it. It was nice staying after the crowd left this weekend. The dunes were smooth after the wind died out so I decided to take some photos. The car ran great, although on monday morning before I packed up and left I saw the passenger rear cv boot had a dime size tear in it at the base of the wheel. Anyone know where to pick one up (930 cv boot) and cost? I'm also wondering if it's easy to replace and I'm guessing adding some more grease. Oh and sorry for some of the picture quality.

your local porsche shop should have the boot, or any auto supply store. Make sure you clean all the old grease out before you pack it with new, if you don't get all the sand out it will tear up the cv's. Figure out how it tore, if the axel is pinching the boot at full droop it will continue to tear it up. Hopefully something just poked it, if it is the axels, limiting straps should take care of the problem Sweet lookin ride.....

You should add wings to that car. Cause it sure flys nice.
You should be able to get cv boots at BAP. I tore up a boot once but I think it was when I was on some hard stuff and when I transitions over the top it caught the boot. I replaced it and it never came back, so I figure it was a road hazard not a suspension problem.

It's a Quicksand Car I'm really happy with it. It's light about 1900 lbs for a 5 seater and has a LS1 with a cam, so the power to weight ratio is awesome.

CV boots-the good ones- are available from McKenzies, Kartek & S U. I would, like the other guy said, do your research and find out why it ripped. When you call one of those places about the boot they can give you the best recomendation for the CV grease. Oh yeah, when you do the CV, where an old long sleeve shirt and rubber gloves because it can get messy.
