first run at the track........it pops at the shiftpoint, back at the pits i see my boost is at 35lbs ok it just leaned out (corrected altitude was 398)

second run it pops the whole way down the track except when i lift which was most of the way down the track

back in the pits i figure im done for the day so i watch a few runs then i decide to pull the plugs and to my shocker.gif there is no tip on one of the plugs...damn where did that thing go? so i pull out a new set of plugs install them and put it in line again ok engine sounds good on this run but as i told the track promoter i need a right turn at the finish line.....damn at 89mph the car hung a hard right towards the fence...as im sitting there changing my underwear i am thinking wow that shock change didnt help at all if anything it was worse.......ok i will preload the springs a bit on this run after the track officials came over to see why it did what it did and i explained it was a change that didnt work and i changedd it again and it shouldnt do it again and damn it went straight, my grandmother could drive it im guessing

sunday comes around now

Time trail one 3.72 et (best at this track) straight and clean
Time trial two 3.74 et straight and clean

i dial a 3.85 since by the time eliminations start heat is usually out and the car will slow down

round one i run 3.72 on a 3.85 dial fortunately the guy i ran against redlit and i had to chase him down in a big way so i won anyways even if i did break out

round two straight up win off the lights and down the track i even lifted at the end to ensure no breakout cause i could only change my dial .10 to a 3.75

round three winner gets a trip to the finals i run a 3.76 on a 3.75 dial and lose by .013 which was on the reaction time we both ran .01 off our dial

hopefully i got the car sorted out better than its ever been now, the last 4 or 5 races have been going great running deeper into rounds than ever before just looking for that first win, i think the biggest thing that has changed my racing though was taking fridays off, getting to the track at a reasonable time and being relaxed, this in combination of knowing what to do and how to drive the car better in all of the situations (usually always in staging)

laughing.gif Sounds like the car is running well thumb.gif Lean will take the ground electrode right off like a blow torch

actually it wasnt lean after all girlfriend was complaining at the last race it was popping more than usual on the two step i said she didnt know shiat i must have been on it longer.....well i was on the two step longer cause i forgot my first pass was on a sport tree and with all the heat that builds i think that finished it off cause it did it at the shift not at top end where i will be full of boost I never changed anything on the motor except the plugs and never had an issue after that

btw; the plugs were just over a year old im gonna change them more often now

I wouldn't think the two step would do it since it shuts ign down alternately letting the fuel just pass through and cool each cyl. A loose plug will do it also, or too much antisieze on the threads, just a thought. Sounds like it runs well though thumb.gif

6800rpm and 15lbs of boost on the two step still builds some heat

plugs were all tight
