there is a saying that i remember from a long time ago...
"your friends will know you better in the first minute you meet, than your aquentences will know you in a thousand years"
this is how i felt about you bro!!!
i met Kasey at the inland empire taco tuesday last week. sat down and chatted with him while we waited for everone else to show up. not only was he a huge guy in size, his heart was huge as well. when the bill came, he grabed it off the table, smiled and said "i got it man" and i had never met this dude before!!!
i just knew one day i would be sitting around a campfire talk'n trash with this guy, that he would be someone i would call a friend, and that he would be a great part of our group.
with shakey hands and a heavy heart, i know now that he will be by my campfires, but only in thought from now on.
you will be missed big guy...

I met him briefly saturday night.
Your heart sinks everytime you hear about a tragedy such as this... but it sinks a bit lower when it is someone that you have met... if even for a moment. The impact that a few words and a handshake has is amazing. Make every one of them count.
RIP Kasey. Our deepest sympathies to your friends, families, and aquaintances.

Kasey,
Was awesome to meet ya Saturday night. Kasey and his buddies that rode over were all very cool guys. What a terrible accident. We are all very saddened by this when we heard about it.

Many prayers, hugs and healing to all of those involved and their families. Ride in peace, Mother Glamis will be watching over you.

I also got to meet Kasey for a brief minute on Saturday night. It breaks my heart to see how life can change in a second. Here he was at camp saying hi to everyone and an hour later he is gone. Just wish I would have spent alittle more time saying hi. RIP Kasey. And many prayers to his family and friends.

I just got 2 PM's letting me know this and it's really sad.
I meet Kasey at the Backwoods get together on Thursday of last week. To me he seemed like a cool guy that was young and liked to have fun. I know we say we would like to go doing something we love but when it comes down to it you want that to happen later in life.
RIP my friend!
P.S. where can I find the story on this?

Rivermobster, very well said. I guess Kasey was that kind of guy... like you've known him forever the minute you meet him. I can't tell you how many people have said that about him.
He will be missed.

I still can not bear to open the PMs from this great kid. He sent me a bunch just to say how excited he was to be going to Glamis instead of a planned shooting trip. Got rained out since went to G instead. He passed from us while doing what was in his heart and that was to be out in the sand. New to the board, he had already had his board name on his ride. He was a great kid and a funny as hell jokester...many found that out on saturday around the campfire in 13.5.
God Bless him and his family and those involved in this very tragic ending to a young man's life.

I have known Kasey for most of my life. He was camping with us when this accident happened. Please keep his family in your prayers, becasue they need all of the help that they can get right now. He was way too young. He was always willing to help anyone with anything. We went up to Glamis last year sometime. It was my dad, my brother, Kasey, and I, and he paid for our lunch on the way back home. This just shows what kind of person Kasey really was.

Thank you for posting this, predatorman.
Since you signed on as a guest I was not able to send you an email or a PM, but I would very much like to. Please send me an email at vickiw@duners.org when you get a chance.
We had the good fortune of meeting Kasey last week and his death has shocked us all. The last thing we talked about was inviting him and his mother to camp with us at the end of January. He was quite a guy.

Thank you all for your kind words. My name is Rick and I along with predatorman55 have known Kasey for a very long time. Him and I met when we were still in strollers and have been neighbors and brothers ever since.
We, along with some close friends were camping along Gecko road this last weekend. I was not along on the ride when the accident happened but arrived shortly after.
Kasey was a very generous individual and a good friend. He will be greatly missed.
Feel free to send any PMs or e-mails. Thanks,

I've known Kasey since High school. We were supposed to be meeting up at Olds that night...but I guess I know now why he wasn't returning my calls. Kasey will be missed very much. I like the saying that Rivermobster said:

Predator man & Bolted Down....
I met you on Saturday night... in an unfortunate situation, I am sorry for that. However I must say what a great group of friends you guys are! Ok... I can't read now, cause I'm crying.... ok... so... as I was saying... I'm am more than sure Kasey was very happy to have had you by his side... I know I would have loved to have you guys there.. You guys are some really nice tight friends and I could tell you all were like brothers. I hope to meet all of you under better circumstances again... maybe we can do a memorial in Glamis... maybe at the flag pole?? I think its important for people to know the kind of people you guys are... you all were just so nice even under the most troublesome of times. What a dynamic group of men...
Our hearts, our love, our condolences....

There is a service on that same day, a memorial, for another fallen duner so it may be tough for some people to either choose or do both.
It's hard to share so many broken hearts, but we will.
