Here is the Cannibal Helmet mounted HID...

guys, I have this light and it's hands down the brightest and best light I've got. It's brighter than the Trail tech HID's I have on the bars of my quad and the best part is. Even though I have lights on my frame that just go straight, HID's on my bars that go where my bars turn. this helmet mounted HID goes where ever I point my head. It's great for cresting dunes at night. and also I think it makes me safer during night rides. because when I look at somebody, I KNOW they can see me.
I highly recommend this product. I've had mine for going on two seasons now and have never had a single problem.

Not sure we are talking about the same Rob. We hooked up YZ250Rob with a light a few years back. Crazy guy had nothing and was riding at night using the spill light from the lights of others.

If it has the LEDs it's the Cannibal. If not it's the HeadHunter. Is that light still working ok for you guys Dave? That thing has a few seasons on it.

100 watt what? Halogen?

Not sure why you would want to post those in the NiteRider thread. Looks like they would be great at grabbing branches on the trail though.

Now you are calling me a but head. That is f'ing funny.
So you think mounting the light on top of your head, to catch branches and create fatigue from the wind hitting the light is better than on the side where it is out of the way? Interesting.

100 mph is how fast you will have to go to keep them cool. And I'm the fool? Great design.

I'll be sure to let NiteRider and Baja Designs know they are doing it all wrong.

I don't care Esco. Whoever he is he is just making himself look like an idiot. It's all good.
The Mickey Mouse ears are cute and colorful. Everything offered by NiteRider, Baja Designs or Rigid is just boring and black. Not to mension mounted in the wrong spot.

The 10" difference to see over somthing is hardly worth risking getting your neck tweaked on a branch. The wind resistance from having stuff on top of your head sucks too.
So ya, having the light on the side of the helmet is better. The NiteRider and Baja Design lights don't have to run at 100 mph to keep cool. They don't knock stuff and they don't cause extra fatigue.
So what creative mis-spelled garbage are you going to go with now? I can't wait. This is fun.

Hi lovesdunes, are you selling the hellfires personally, or are you a distributor? I have a set of the helfires. Like you said, a good compliment to having light in the direction your turning. I have a hid bulb kit now in the stock light housings for the raptor 700, and I'm gonna re-mount the hellfires with the rechargeable battery pack up above. I prefer my battery pack operated helmet hid by cyclops over the other helmet hids.. Seeing over dips and such has been a life saver. I also use it to spot beyond in the direction I'm going to help pick a line in the dunes.

Didn't a guy get killed cause of those top mounted helmet lights??? I heard he caught a tree branch with them and then went off course because of it and went off a 300' cliff and splat.
Anybody here of that?? IMHO I'd lean towards mounting them on the side....

Hi Raptorrush, I design a lot of their stuff. I'm glad you like them. They do work pretty good. Just watch out for those razorbacks. You might miss them since the lights are too low.

You should have bike mounted lights also. Side mounted lights will break your collar bone in a crash. The lights work better on top. Go test it out!

Hey OB, I would like to look at it this way... Some people shouldn't mess with sharp objects, have matches and such. Much like some of the people out there who drive quads, buggies wrecklessly endangering others.
If one is not smart enough to see a branch with a torch on his or her head, they probabeely have no business out there riding at night.

They are on top because that is where I put them. Anyone will tell you that the lights up top create a lot of drag. Drag is no good.

Great you can run them at 18 volts.
Your lights wern't brighter than the old NiteRider HIDs. So I know they arn't brighter than the NiteRider LEDs. But you have that 18 volt thing going for you.

Awesome. The lights stay cool.
That's great the lights are mounted with velcro. It still tweeks your neck.
We did try the high and low. Low has more advantages than high. Every MX racer that uses NiteRider and Baja Design lights will say the save thing.
