The TORS eliminator eliminates those things on top of your carbs(that are P'sOS anyway), replacing them with a regular cap and cable. Very smart investment. Sooner or later you will have some sort of problem with your TORS, I have yet to see one that didnt. Its main purpose is to shut down the bike if the throttle should become stuck. But all it really does is keep it from working at all.

My understanding is that the TORS system works by shutting down the engine if the thumb-throttle is released, and the engine continues to rev (i.e., the throttle sticks, as the previous post mentioned).

Kept clean and maintained the TORS works well. It works basicly by having three switches, one in each carb and one in the throtle. If it gets a throtle closed signal and one or both of the carbs show and open signal, it shuts the bike off.
Now if you want to remove, you will need to add idle (Slide limiters) screws and set up the throtle cables. The bike looks much better without them, but how comfortable are you with carb tuning.

We took the TORS off of Carrie's banshee, it is a lot easier to work on with those things off. We put the Pro Design carb kit on it.

Hmmm. My TORS are still on and on president's day my throttle stuck all weekend before i cleaned the carbs out. It just revved until i hit the kill switch. Are these the kinds of problems you were talking about? thanks for the info
