I'm having mega-overheating problems >:< It is driving me crazy, if I go for a short hard ride, I'll stop and hear the radiator boiling, water pump missing fins maybe? I've even changed radiator, the over flow is constantly spewing :.(. Maybe I'll just sell it and buy the new V-TWIN 500 2-stroke Banshee, I know it sounds crazy, looks even weirder, supposedly has 100hp stock! This could just be another cruel joke by the stupid ATV rag >:<

If it was the April issue, you can bet it was a joke.

Looney, I had the same problem on my Banshee. First, check your coolant and make sure you are running a 50/50 mix. If not, that will cause major overheating problems.
Mine turned out that it was the gear the drives the water pump impeller. The water pump impeller shaft goes through the case. On the back side there is a plastic gear. There is a pin that goes though the shaft that sits in a slot in the back side of that plastic gear. On mine, the slot that the pin sits in was completely melted so that when the gear turned it would not turn the shaft. I can't remember how much the gear was. I do remember that the grease seal that has to be replaced costs more than the gear. It is a pretty easy job to replace though.

Az_banshee what type of coolant do you run in your 50/50 mix? I'm currently running Coolanol.

I run whatever is on sale that day. Prestone or some equivalent. I don't buy the ready to use stuff. (its already mixed 50/50 for you). Also, its good to mix the coolant with distilled water instead of tap water.

Hey Looney, after you've fixed what's causing these problems, try 'watter wetter', it's an additive that you put into the coolant that's supposed to cool your engine on an average of 10 degrees F. I've never heard any complaints about it. Amigo even puts that stuff in his truck... he swears by it... check it out after you've fixed your bike.
