I have an '02 banshee with an RIS grille. I heard they can make a bike overheat. So far so good. Has anybody had a problem with aluminum grilles?

Thats a very good question. .I recently have purchased one but have not ridden since. There are a lot of ones out there that look cool but cut out what looks like 50% or more air flow.

Now that the heat is turning up, is anyone having problems with aluminum grilles? I think I should take out my stock one just in case.

I ride with a person that has an 02' Banshee. They had the aluminum grill on the bike before they left the dealer. We go on some long rides and they have never had an over heating problem on that thing yet.

The grills do look badass. One bummer, though, is that it got sandblasted after a couple weekends and has lost its mirror. Still looks good though.

Since when did people buy Yami's to actually ride em!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Damn im surprised!! So let me get this straight you actually rode your quad hence your grill losts its shine? Well then again Yami's are always in back which also explains why it got sandblasted:)

I was only behind because your mom rides pretty fast when i'm chasing her down for a little love. biggrin.gif She rides a Banshee too. My kinda woman!

We all know that riding in the sand is really hard on a bike. I do like the looks of these grills but anything that blocks the flow of air through your radiator is sacrificing reliability for looks.

Maybe if you installed a fan behind the radiator to improve cooling then the aluminum grill wouldn't be an issue...
