The R ran great this weekend, well it did before I found the gas leak. It comes out the little tiny cravace(spelling?) where the gas on and off knob is. I tried taking that off to see if it was dirty or something, but I didn't have the right tool. Any suggestions?

Do u mean the petcock? Cuz my old atc250R used to have a bad ass leak there. If it is the just go buy a new gasket and put it in. Should be as good as new.

Is it the stock tank? I saw a R at Florence that had a crack about where you are talking about. It might be time to upgrade toa larger tank!!!!!!!!!!

It's not stock, its a 4 gallon desert tank, I'm looking to go back to stock though!

I had to change the O-ring inside the (on - off- resv) petcock valve. The old one was hard and cracked. I had a hard time finding one that was the right size at auto parts store.
I went to local cycle center and the parts guy said had to buy the whole valve, went out back to repair dept. and they found one for me. Didn't even charge me for it.
Before you take it apart remember to pinch off gas line. icon_smile.gif

It sounds like the petcock gasket. I had the same problem and pick-up the part from honda. Just pull off the gas tank and replace the part...
