So is the majority happy with Irwins Tree service for delivery to G ?
Trying to convince some of our gang that it's the way to go. Some think it's pricey and too much wood but I like the idea of not having to mess with haulin it from Phoenix. Chitown to Phoenix to G in 24 hours.... I got enough to take care of in a short amount time.
Thanks
Esco
works for me, just got a hold of them and having a truckload deliverd tonight.

$140 to have it brought out and unloaded is the bomb yay.gif

who really wants to load a bunch of wood in there trailer, tote it out to G then have to unload it?

get 7 people in your group that only $20 ea <-------- way worth it to me

just make sure EVERYONE pays up for the wood that says they are going to and politely request that Irwins NOT bring monsterously huge pieces...unless you wanna split tree stumps instead of duning? (SP???) lol!
i give them the thumb.gif

Good idea, but have someone bring a wedge and a sledge...half of what we got last weekend was waaay too big to burn.

It takes a little extra fire management but even the monstrosities will burn. icon_biggrin.gif

After much debate last week we ended up not ordering from Irwins THINKING someone in our group was bringing wood....... but they didn't. So I was calling Irwins on the way to G last Friday morning, left messages as to what I wanted. No calls back. So I called again that afternoon after getting to our camp and I got a message that the phone # was disconnected ???? No answers from the cell phone #'s either... Oh well, I figured it was our fault for not ordering earlier. We ended up buying some from Gilmores ( it was $$ but burned real nice) and some of our group that came late Friday brought some scraps so we got by but I was disappointed I didn't even get a call back...... until 9:45 last night! Hell, I got back to Illinois before they returned my message. Oh well, next time I better order it earlier.

Esco, what was disappointting? Too big of pieces or just lousy wood ?
Esco
it was hardly a truckload, guyz in camp said the truck looked like it was filled a 3rd of the way, seeems each truckload is getting smaller

pieces were sized fine though

I will most likely never order from them again. For a few reasons, but a couple of reasons are:

They are terrible about returning phone calls. I called no less than 5 times left messages with the daughter etc. No call back.

Their loads of wood that are being delivered are getting smaller and smaller

They don't show up when they say they will. I come to G to dune not wait 6 hours on a firewood delivery.

I ordered the last batch from Sal's tree service in brawley which was more expensive. $250.00 for a cord of Ash wood that burned really well.

Sal has been good about either ansering his cell or getting right back.

was only 1 1/2 hours late delivering the wood vs Erwins 6 hour's late.

Sal's numbers are:

I'm also disappointed with Irwin's.

Poor communication, late, small delivery, the price has gone up, some of it is pretty green stuff.

I'm not defending poor service, but maybe we just burned all their stock..There aren't that many trees around the area...icon_wink.gif
