I heard about that on DSC today. That sounds fun too. Aren't a couple of NASCAR guys racing each other? I know about Boyer vs. Bromo.
I've never been to the races at Cajon, but have heard nothing but praises.
Who's all going to the races? It's only 5 to 10 minutes from home. Might have to check it out.

I guess I could always stay home and study...................NAH!!!

Ceremonial pitch for Padres caps Lakeside boy's wish list
By Natasha Lee
April 11, 2003
LAKESIDE – Kyle Blocksom is a little nervous about throwing the ceremonial first pitch at tomorrow's Padres game.
"I'm afraid I'm not going to make it over the plate," he said.
In preparation for his big moment, Kyle and his dad have been practicing for a week.
Kyle's special pitch was made possible through the Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego. A year ago, the 8-year-old was diagnosed with Burkitt's lymphoma, a rare type of lymphatic cancer that affects the blood system.
The foundation grants about 150 wishes each year to children under the age of 18 diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.
Make-A-Wish partnered with MicroSkills, a local computer training company and Padres sponsor, to make Kyle's latest wish come true.
He has been in remission for nearly a year.
"It's nice to give them (Make-A-Wish children) a thrill at least for the day, that they might not have had. It feels good," said Tony Jimenez, general manager for MicroSkills.
Through Make-A-Wish, the Lakeside youngster has been able to attend a host of local sporting events. And in November, Kyle traveled with his family to Hawaii to meet Everett Hyland, a Pearl Harbor survivor.
Hyland, a retired Navy seaman apprentice, shared his personal accounts of the Japanese bombing and gave the family tours of historical sites and memorials.
The all-expenses-paid trip also included lots of fun in the sun.
"I liked that we got to go snorkeling and stay in the Hilton," Kyle said.
A visit to Pearl Harbor may seem like an unusual wish for an 8-year-old, but for Kyle it was an opportunity to see his favorite period of history up close.
He loves watching war movies, especially the movie "Pearl Harbor," and drawing tanks and airplanes.
"I like what Army people do. They protect our future," he said.
Kyle's family said the Make-a-Wish Foundation's acts of kindness have been overwhelming.
"We've been touched by the genuine care and support from everyone," said Kyle's father, Mark.
Once the Padres' game is over, Kyle said he hopes things settle down and the he can be a regular kid again.
"It's been fun," he said, "But I'm ready to be a normal kid and sit around and watch TV."
Still, Kyle realizes he's had some wonderful opportunities.
"My friends think I'm lucky," he said. "I think I'm lucky, too."

Hmm. I wonder if DJ would want to go to the game. He really should get some practice becoming a DD.
Only problem is that it takes something GOOD to get him to walk away from his video games on a Saturday night. Or any night for that matter.

Bring on Heath Bell. The Padres would have advanced to the playoffs last year if they would have left him in instead of bringing out Hoffman

He's a great guy, but WTF?
Padres will never be a contender if they keep resigning guys who are past their prime for huge amounts of money and trading away all the good young talent to other teams to let them go onto become superstars elsewhere.
