Slap is very sorry to hear dat Pastor...Slap understands the connection you have with him. If he scampered, then his back ain't broke and he ain't paralyzed...Let him kick it in da sun, and then take a look at him and see how he is before ya leave. If he is still there and alive, then he may just make it.

They be tough Pastor, and he probably knows you didn't want dat to happen. Here's an idea for ya. If he ain't doin well by da time you leave, you can try keepin him warm overnight by settin him on a towel in a bucket and placin a couple hand warmers underneath the towel just under him. OOOHHH it would make him downright cozy, and with da warmth, he will heal quicker. But if ya don't wanna go through da trouble, then we'll cross our fingers and hope he makes it.

Sorry to hear that. No, he wasn't a pet and yes, he was "just" a lizard but that's not how it feels, it feels awful when something like that happens.

Find a new place for your smoke breaks and try not to let it get to you.

Make sure you bury him. I always buried my dead critters. Then there is no doubt of where he is or what happened to him. I feel bad about a dog and cat of mine who were euthanised at the vet. I will never know what ultimately happened to them.

Dats to bad Pastor, and Slap knows it will bum ya out for a little while. But another will come along and claim his territory, and he'll be your new buddy. Those are da coolest friendships with critters. They kinda like seeing you everyday also. He's as much interested in you as you are of him, and it never hurts to talk to them.

Slap is gonna tip one up with a bottle of 97 for da Pastors smokebreakbuddy tonight...

I deleted the original post because Bansh88 was right, it was an awfull story. It was more important to write it then it was that people read it.

I know, it was just a lizard and I will probably forget about him quickly. But you can bet I'll be looking for another.

It wasn't a pet lizard, but one that VOR had been seeing every day for quite a while everytime he stepped out to take a break. One of those things that you come to expect without realizing you're expecting it and even looking forward to it.

On Friday he didn't see him, so he wandered over to try to spot him and acidentally trapped the little critter between two pieces of wood.

We've all done things we feel pretty rotten about and this was a hard one.

Brian..I didn't realize what was going on until I read futher down..and saw your post about deleting the original post and it being just a lizard..but when I saw 'he died' and read slaps post about keeping him warm that night and comfortable..my heart sank and I was like omg Baja..then I felt stupid when I read it was a Lizard..give Baja kisses for me..I wont be out there this weekend..doing family stuff with Justin and his family..
