After trying several different brands of grip glue plus safty wire, hair spray, and WD40 to hold my new grips on, I reached for a can of 3M spray ashesive available from any home improvement center. I had used this stuff to adhere a new carpet section to the floorpan on my truck with great results so I tried it on my banshee. Works great! No slippage at all on one trip to Glamis. With all other glues, the grips would start to slip on the first ride. I sprayed liberally on the bar end and throttle tube as well as inside the grip itself. I let it "tack up" for about thirty seconds and then slid the grips on. After thirty minutes (The recommended cure time), I grabbed ahold and walla, no slip grips. Its easy, fast, and cheap. The spray ashesive cost about 6 bucks for a large can and the grip glue costs anywhere from one to two bucks for a single use tube.

i use race gas to put my grips on. pour small amount in grip, drain wait about 20-30 seconds then slam it on. i just put some renthal grips on my predator, even though the package says not to use petroleum products(casue they want you to buy the glue) it works great.

Yeah what Kevin said. Kenny G and Kev talked me into doing it and it works great. Slides right on with out any draging and holds great when dry.

I've had the best luck with carburetor cleaner. Spray some on the bars, inside the grips, slip em on and "ORALE"!! In a little while they're dry... just make sure you don't waste too much time putting them on. I can't move mine at all.

If you truley want to get rid of grip twist get yourself a set of the ODI lock ons. I have never had one spin. I have friends that have them on their bikes and they say the same thing. TitusX also has them on his Z400. He likes them better than the OG grips that came with the bike and they have not twisted yet.

I usually ditch OEM grips and I just got a set of Spider Gel's that I absolutel ylove and will more than likely get a set of those for the Rator. They feel tacky right out of the box.

Soapy water will let water in VERY easy. You end up with a grip that slips right off.

Renthal soft grips are tacky also. The have soft, medium, and hard compounds. I use medium as the soft wears out pretty fast but it sure is grippy. Some of the dual compound grips on the market are sticky out of the box as well.

oh PULEASE!!!! GET A GRIP!!!
bit of lighter fluid does the trick.. sure its the same thing in spray paint, carb cleaner, fuels.. it melts the rubber in the grips for a few, then dries.

Check out the "loc-on" grips, they have some different patterns for different preferences and they've been great on my quad.
