I've been using uni foam filter oil since I bought both bikes new. It acually works too good. The outside of my filters will get so clogged from sand if I'm following that by the end of the weekend, my banshee won't hit the powerband. Not enough air. No sand gets through though.
Everyone that has tried the no toil loves it though I've heard it can eat away the glue that bonds foam filters.
I clean my filters with simple green and hot water. Works great.
Chain lube: Everyone has their favorite. I change my chain out every year so I don't know how long they are able to last. I prefer chain wax (Liquid paraffin) because it doesn't gunk up on the bike or attract dirt and sand.

Ihave read to use the non-oil filters for desert riding. I do not have any experience so I am just passing on info.
As for Chain wax, I use Maxima and love it. There is a device called the Z-Chain oiler which makes lubing the chain a breeze. Just warm up the chain a bit, slap the oiler on, attach a lil hose/nozzle and blammo ALL DONE.

I use Maxima filter oil, I have been cleaning it with uni-filter cleaner but I have recently switched to pj1 filter cleaner and it seems to work better.

Get a K&N!
K&N air filters are way easy to clean, but are they as good as a foam filter?

I love using No-Toil foam filter biodegradable products. I just put some of the cleaner powder in my washing machine with the dirty filters, and let it work! I then spray the red aerosol spray on and let it catch the dirt. It is by far the easiest way to clean, and the dyno charts prove it to be effective. Check it out, www.notoil.com You will never go back to gas and oil or any other solvents.
The best chain lube that I have found is the Pro Honda HP Chain Lube. This lube is for both O-Ring and standard chains.
