Slappy
Slappy wanna wish you all a safe and Happy Easter out on Mother Glamis. You will see some of the most beautimus flowers in all the world. The purple ones spread all over da place are the Desert San Verbena, and the White ones that look like white tissues all over the ground are called Dune Evening Primrose. And if you get up early enough before da sun rises, you may catch the White-Lined Sphinx Moth flying from flower to flower of the Primrose sipping on its sweet nectar  . When your amongst these blooming areas, please try and tread lightly, Mother Glamis will really appreciate it.

Although she will be rippled and rolled, Mother G do have her Witch Eyes that pop up from time to time, like the one below that is just above and Northwest of Brawley Slide Hill. This ugly eye has got some serious shastamcnappiness in da middle of it, as if Mother has been rubbing it day and night...This one can easily swallow a buggy no problem.

Ride safe, be courtious to your fellow duner, and pack out what you pack in. Say hi to Mr. Red Tail when you see him. And if your out in the dunes, you may hear somebody rippin a bowl, and singin a tune; don't forget, "NOBODY DUNE LIKE SLAPPY DUNE."
Esco

WOW lots of flowers, never seen so many before. Also tons of Caterpillars! Driving in Friday morning there was a '"mass exodus" of them crossing Hwy 78. Then in our camp they were all over the place burrowing into the sand. They had a small horn on their tail end.

BTW: that picture of the witches eye reminds me of a gal I used to date! laughing.gif

There are just some things dat people need to see, and that is Mother Glamis at Springtime dezfan, you be absomotutely right...

Hey, them yellow ones you see could be any number of four. Possibly the Desert Dandelion, Brittlebush, Desert-Marigold, or the Desert Sunflower. Slap thinks you probably be sein the Desert Sunflower.

If they be lookin somethin like this dezfan, it is most likely the Desert Sunflower...
