Is there anyone out there that sale's fender stiffeners for the a 86 4trx 250R rear fender. I am getting my plastic painted and the guys at Twisted Images says I need a stiffener to keep the fender from flexing to prevent cracking of the paint.
Any help would be appreciated.

How much do your fenders flex, Tom? I worked as a painter before I went back to school, and we eliminated those problems by adding flex addivitive to the paint.

I don't think they flex that bad but when running across stuff like ruts they do vibrate alot...

Might not be the bomb, but it's the only one they are willing to paint.

Mr Dune,
If your talking about fullbore TRXR plastic you could trim the rear so they don't bounch so much. See pics:
Also if you add a brace to fullbores you have to drill the plastic to hold the support brace to the plastic. OEM Honda has slots for this support to fit into.
I may have a support brace in my garage that you can have. I am in SD.

Mike I run OEM plastic and have cut mine up like the ones you're showing. I have also cut the front ones up 4" as well but now I am going to trim them even more before I take them to Twisted. I just hope they come out nice...

Fullerton Sand Sports-Joe Goodhand for the tires. 714-484-5996. He's the only one I know of that cuts them. $150 each.
Mr Dune I'll check for that support sometime.

You have to position it on the trailer so it sits front to back, not sideways. The wind catches the fender as your hummin down the freeway and flexes the hell out of the fender. That's probably what twisted img meant.

Never Sal, Ben is just one of those people that can't understand why a bike that always gets used can look soooo good and not all wadded-up like his beaters do.
Why is it when ever I hear the name Twisted Image I get the image of Ben playing lawn dart. Hmmmm make me wonder....
