There is going to be an open ASA meeting 8-26 in Ontario. This is a great opportunity to hear what's going on, and ask questions not only of the ASA, but of others involved with the dunes. Usually, there are some guest speakers that do a short presentation followed by some Q&A, which provides a real opportunity for some rare, first-hand answers.

So far, I've heard suggestions to have Dave Hubbard, ASA's lawyer, to talk about the current lawsuit status, the blm to talk about their plans for the new season, and the icso (if they are going to sell passes again) to talk about their plans for that. But the big question is who do you want to hear from, and what would you want them to talk about?

Beach was asking for input on who we'd like to see there as speakers. thumb.gif

TMK, there is no preregistration or anything like that to attend the ASA open meeting... at least there hasn't been when I've gone before. Ya just show up, the more the merrier 1dude.gif

I'd encourage ANYONE interested in the ISDRA and issues to attend this... IMO they go out of their way with these open meetings to lay it all out there for anyone willing to show up and listen and usually have the real deal people there to speak in their capacity... great way to bring up issues or get some good Q&A face-to-face.

edit... I kant speel scheeks.gif

BaBaBouy...as usual, Hozay's right on. The agenda hasn't been set yet, but this is definitely a starting point. I'm going to submit the suggestions to the board, and I hope we'll have as many of the suggested speakers as possible. Of course, we'll be limited to some extent by time, and of course the speakers personal schedules and willingness to speak.

I do encourage as many people as possible to attend, and no preregistration is needed. Even if you can only stay for part of it, it is extremely informative, and things are much clearer when you hear information from someone who is directly involved in a particular issue. There are usually three or four of these per year, spread out to different locations, so it's a great opportunity that shouldn't be missed.

These meetings last all day! I know, been to several of them and they go at least 8 hours with a lunch break thrown in.

More information than you'd ever want, believe me. I usually take a notebook.

Never been any preregistration and you can ask questions of anyone there on any subject you want.

Thanks all

I would like to hear from a representive of the Fish & Wildlife Service regarding what is taking them so long to de-list the PMV. We have now five years of studies in a row plus two years from the BLM. All reports show the same thing. The plant is a f'in weed, grows in one of the harshest environments around, you couldn't kill it if you tried...

It only took 3 reports (1 was totally bogus) covering over 15 years to list the plant back in 1998... shocker.gif
