I have something I want to say here so please bear with me for a moment...

This has been an ugly week. For those who don’t have a clue what I’m talking about, go on about your business, all’s well.

But for those who have felt the ugliness, I commiserate, believe me.

Although this hasn't been the ugliest week, it sure has run a close second and has provided the push needed.

As of today, heck, maybe even as of right this minute, I will no longer hold “moderator” status here on GlamisDunes.com.

For those people tossing confetti and opening the champagne, please note: This does not mean I will be going away.

Not by a long shot.

There has just been too much drama and it’s not only interfering with me, DUNERS, and Friends of Dumont Dunes, but more importantly it’s interfering with GlamisDunes and that has to stop.

So... it’s been fun, and it’s been interesting and a new chapter is beginning.

Vicki....I'm really sorry to hear this. I know where your heart and soul is and it saddens me that you will not be a contributing factor higher up then just a member.

There always must be differences in opinions to see things as a whole. I hope that this Discussion Section will not become something different then it has been while you were moderating.

I do want to reiterate that the only change is, I won’t be moderating this forum any more.

I will still be educating and debating and setting records straight. Maybe even more so now, without the constraints of a “position.”

And I will still be doing all of that, and more, right here on GlamisDunes.com.

I'm also very sorry to hear of this, especially because it sounds like it's not really voluntary.


Vicki, in all honesty, there have been times I've questioned your decisions as a mod (who don't I question would be a better question ) and there have been times I've disagreed with you on some minor detail.

But I've never questioned your commitment to the dunes and the duning lifestyle. You've certainly informed many of us and provided a fairly balanced viewpoint all along. I know being a mod on this site isn't easy, and I'm sure there is plenty of spirited debate behind the scenes about many things.

Anywho, being a mod will always be a pretty thankless job, you'll probably enjoy just being a member now more than ever.


Just try and bestow a little mercy on whomever gets stuck herding the cats.

I don't understand ALL that went on, but I know I'm glad your not "sailing away" completely. I read this section much more than I post and appreciate your openess and straight forwardness, and your knowledge. Your heart is is in the dunes and you participate in trying to keep our right to enjoy them legal. For that I say thank you. Keep fighting the good fight.
And hell, now that your not a mod. anymore you'll have more time for the fight.

thank you for your service to the community here on gd.com, as well as all the time you put in behind the scenes working for us and the dunes. No one will always agree on everything, but I think we all agree that the dunes are why we're all here, and that's where all of our hearts are.

By the very nature of the issues with the dunes, this section is very controversial, and I have always said you had the toughest job of all to be a moderator. I don't think I could have lasted as long as you did in this section, so my hat is sincerely off to you.

OH s***........... now it truly begins..... GOOD LUCK BOYS AND GIRLS.....

Vicky, thank you for your time and effort, for us and the dunes. And thank you for the time and effort you are still going to put forth, no matter what capacity.

And to think this was the very first forum I read here at GD.com. Not only has it taught me about Glamis, but because of Vicki I also learned about redheads, of which I have two. Sure they're a pain in the arse, but they are also very special.
