What is their background? Ever built sandcars before?
Background… Hmmmm? No, No buggy background. But I did stay in a Holiday INN last night. LOL!!!!!!

No really, I just don’t want to sound like public enemy #1. I’m a fourth year mechanical engineer student at Cal Poly Pomona with a minor in business. I’ve been a certified welder since high school. I grew up with the off road influence since day one through my father and his numerous shops. Mostly I was involved in helping with the design and weld of chase truck, prerunners and stuff.
My business partner Trent Chelbana grew up building and racing pro-stock race cars with his father Tom Chelbana. He runs his own repair shop and does a lot of high end street cars, Motor swaps and upgrades of the kind.
Three years ago we got together to build a sandcar business combining his experience with my computer design abilities. Mostly we built frames and suspension but few turn key cars. That is until California changed the laws to require us a bond and license to build. At that point we turned over to only producing turn key cars. That has worked out well. Now were expanding a bit. As for turn key cars, only a dozen or so.
Most importantly we have had a lot of fun in this industry. The people whom we deal with on a daily basis are a lot like a big family. I’ve loved Glamis since I first set eyes on it, not really planning on giving it up ever. I’m sure everyone will agree when I say it’s not a hobby, It’s definitely a LIFE STYLE…
