Coming from the land of dirt bike riding, other then the occasional ride on my buddies quad I do not have a lot of time spent over 4 wheels. What technique do you use for jumping with a quad. Preload or not? - Mid-air throttle, or not? Etc.
Just curious to see how many people do it different!

Gas it and hang on, that's about all I've got. But my suspension is too blown out to attempt any kind of preload...I'm getting it redone soon, will see how that goes and check back...

I guess it all depends on what / how far /how high your trying to jump just like on a 2-wheeler.

if the bike is leaning to the left in the air turn te wheels toward the left until its level. if its leaning right turn it right. Im sure you know about the gas and brake, sicne its the same for a DB.

Preload if you want to pop off the jumps, use the brake to pitch foward, the throttle to lift the front end. Just like on a bike'

I jump just like I would on a two-wheeler; I just have to look harder for a good lip. Coming off a jump side ways or crooked on a quad is usually a lot harder to deal with than it would be on a two-wheeler.

Sounds like I should be good to go

now all I need is the stupid dealer to get my quad in and I will be airborne

Also, It takes a lot more speed to get the amount of air you would on a two-wheeler and the landing is not as soft.

Leaning back putting alot of pressure on the seat of the bike so that the shock compresses. I read this in a mag with kory ellis doing it. Its hard and thebke will kcik up and front end will fly down but i guess with practice it will become easier. Also just pushing down on the whole bike ou come to the lip kind of works
I just go faster so i dont need to preload

Define preloading your suspension.....
When aproching a jump push the joystick forward then rapidly pull it straight back you will notice the preload meter go up the quicker you do this the more preload you will get.

well when I'm going for a gap I preload and usualy gass it when I land. But just hitting the small stuff in the flats just stand up and stand on the gas. only mid air throttle on the big air jumps when needed. dont land sidewase and if you do get in the throttle hard

If you are hittin nose first every time try giving it some gas while in the air...just remember to let off the gas before you land!!!! <<<<good way to snap your shaft

Got a friend with the full GYT-R package, save your money and spend it somewhere else. The pipe isnt anything to write home about. I'd go aftermarket in all those areas.
