This may sound like a dumb question, but how are you guys securing your toys at the dunes? I know we spend a ton of $$$ on them, but was wondering if there are a lot of toys stolen at Glamis (the general area).

Thanks and I'm looking forward to some good suggestions. I alreayd use a few thick cables, but I'm always thinking these guys are going to have big cable cutters!
jchappy
Big thick cable and a very good lock
Keep someone in camp at all times
Some people bring big dogs

I always lock it up close to where I sleep so I can hear if someone is messing with it

And get insurance to cover theft
Surf-n-Sand
Quick release steering wheel, Also put a bell on your lock so that if someone does cut it you hear it. Sometimes if it's not windy i'll put the toys under the awning of the trailer and lower the awning down over them.

I lock up the quads in the enclosed every night... and take the buggy's steering wheel in the moho with me, then cover the rail (if Mr. Patrone and I haven't been chatting too much).

A friend of mine works for an alarm company and they make a cable alarm for TARGET for thier
semi trailers. The way he explained it to me for dunes setup is you would have an alarm(siren) in your
trailer and a cable any length you want that would rap through your bikes or buggy and if any one disconnected the cable or cut the cable the alarm would go off. It sounded good to me but I would still
run a chain and lock for backup. I am going to see him this weekend I'll try and get more info.

What a great idea - I bet's it's pricey though. I wonder if anyone's installed a "kill switch" opn their Rhino or buggy?

I do the kill switch, remove the steering wheel and use a thick cable. I'm thinking about one of those New York chains instead if the cable......and I have a no travel rail. I'll be extra paranoid when I finally move up to something in the LT arena.

Forgive my ignorance here, but I've only been with my Rhino for about 1 hr. I'm have cage work done on it , so It's not at my house. How easy/difficult is it to take off the sterring wheel?

I believe they were refering to a after market kit to make your steering wheel removable like on a
sandcar.
