I am thinking of going with some seats that have a speaker integrated in the headrest; has anyone had any experience with these like the one pictured below?

I cant imagine the sound quality being very good but who knows. Make sure they are marine grade speakers.

I looked at the ones from Beard and my thought was how loud is that with a speaker right behind my head. Will I beable to hear my passangers screams? Will I beable to hear the motor? I would want to hear from people that have them. Or wait till next weekend and go to the SSSS.

My thought was to use two-ways in the headrests for Mids and Highs and place a Sub-Woofer somewhere for the Bass with a High/Low Pass Selectable Amp. headbang.gif

I would only be running the tunes when cruising around camp or the hills; once it's time to drop the hammer, the tunes would be terminated. thumb.gif

My mom has a miata with the in seat speakers. Frankly I'm not impressed with them. I can turn them all the way up and still barely notice them unless I turn my head. And that's with a wider headrest that gets them out to the sides where your ears are.

Nifty idea...just doesn't make a big difference in the end IMHO.

Skip the speakers if you just want to listen when you ride. Get a good intercom system w/upgraded headsets and plug in an XM, MP3 or IPOD it woks great. The music will cut out when someone is speaking or you have a radio call.

I got my head rest speakers from PRP about a year ago. They matched my material and fit right in my adjustable head rest holes. I think they use a Kicker speaker. PRP uses two speakers in each headrest. The picture above looks like one speaker, what about stereo?.

Anyway mine work great. They work best for the highs and you should have some others speakers in the car for bass. My bass speakers are down at my feet so when Iam moving fast the head rest speakers are about all you can hear. the wind noise drowns out my bass speakers at my feet.
