My bud is selling me his Cannondale for a great price.
However, I don't know anyone who owns one to tell me how strong it is compared to the Predator, 400ex, Raptor, etc, etc.
I hear Cannondale is going out of biz. I am not too crazy about the looks of this smashed frog. But I can custom fit other plastics..............

Cdale isn't going out of business--they still make bicycles. No more quads, though. Their website doesn't even mention the ATV's now.

Well then thats a good thing, at least you can still get parts for it... :burn:

The rumors floatin around the Cannondale rig is that someone has bought the motorsports division and will be taking all the parts/pieces to Japan to resume production....

Lots of stories on whats happening w/ C-Dale. No concrete evidence of anything yet. The Dales run strong. If you are worried about reliability, and you should be, www.southbaymoto will make it bulletproof as well as some good bigbore kits. Mine has been solid in one year of hard hard abuse w/ only bolts on mods. They have as much power as a fully piped Raptor, handle waaaaay better and soak up the whoops. I am concerned about the future of parts. The Dales acceleration is fierce on hardpacked w/ a take no prisoners attitude from corner to corner of 11,600 rpm redline and 250r handling...

I WOULD NOT buy it until the bankruptcy is figured out. You may get screwed. And probably will.

The new owners of Cannondale( Pegasus Partners LTD.) have NO PLANS to produce any more quads. They are an outfit that buys companys with financial problems, assumes the debt, and them "parts" them out piece by piece. There have been rumors of someone buying the motorsports division but these are only rumors. There are NO PARTS being made at this time. If you can beg, borrow or somehow come up with a vendors list, then you can still get some parts, as these were made by outside manufacturers. If you tear up a case or cylinder or such(especially commom with the cases), then you will have a HELLUVA time finding replacements and they will most likely have to be a used part. That being the case, I wouldn't have one. They were/are fast, handle well, and had a lot of trick parts on them, but the required maintainence(removing the motor from the chassis just to adjust the valves, ect.), parts hassels, and mediocre reliability spells a huge NO in my book. Sorry to sound like I'm flaming them, but reality sometimes hurts. I have nothing against the 'Dales except that they will soon be a memory and thats a shame. I have a buddy who bought 3 new cannibles just before they went out and he is now kind of sorry for it. My Hondas and new Z400 Suzuki are just as much fun, way more reliable, I can buy parts almost anywhere, and can be made to run exceptionally well if need be.
Soooo, if you're after a quad, think REALLY HARD about the 'Dale, and strongly consider a new Z400/KFX 400. A 450 Suzi(easily done) is pretty impressive when stacked up to a 440 'Dale.

Thanks for the feedback.
I have a friend that works at Big Red and just told me that they will be releasing the new quad soon. So far people have been especulating they will have a CRF450 quad. Well they are!

I'll just wait for them to have it out on the market.

I tested the Dale yesterday, and it is a darn good machine, but I may be buying a Dinosaur!!
