im looking to see if anyone can answer some questions about a rhino i have a 22ft daytona boat and want to use a rhino to pull it in and out the water does any one use there rhino for that or know if it can be done or not thanks for your thought

I use mine to pull my flatbed trailer in and out of my driveway. It is a flat bed car hauler that is heavy. It probably weighs in at about 2500-2800 lbs. Rhino squats a little but has no problem.

what about try to pull it up a wet ramp

as long as there is not toooo much tounge weight, 4 low should do the trick along with low air pressure

I've seen it done a bunch with a small boat like yours. Like has been said already just watch the tounge weight and the Rhino will pull it out like a champ. These things pull very well just don't have the spring rates to handle a lot of tounge weight.

Just bring a rope and your truck the first time, if it works your set, if not just pull it up, and you'll still have a sweet night time toy...

the tounge weight is only like 2 hundred pounds and the boat and trailer i think is like 3000 pounds

Shouldn't be a problem. Just take your time the first time around. 4Lo locked up the ramp and back to 2x so you can turn. You may want to crank up the preload on the rear shocks if you're using it to launch alot but it will affect handling when empty. Again just take your time and see how it works. If it don't feel right don't push it.

There is actually a guy having a RHino built to launch his 28 foot deck boat. They are building a dolly that hooks to the rhino to carry the tounge weight...should be interesting to see how it works.

I think it all depends on how steep the ramps is but this was in another post.[attachmentid=102746]

I'd be careful the first time...

boston whalers are no problem icon_biggrin.gif if that helps...

The boat posted above is a 24' skater too, so you should be alright...
CrazyJohnny
only thing is the brakes, if you back your boat down and it is to heavy it could drag ur rhino into the water rubs.gif
The Pastor
Why not make some spring protectors?

A piece which prevents the suspension from fully compressing when it gets too much toung weight.

It's not like there's a bunch of whoops on a boat launch! icon_biggrin.gif

I routinely use my Rhino to take my Barefoot Sanger in and out of the water at Fishers Landing. It pulls the boat out of the water better than some trucks and SUVs. My boat weighs about 2500 lbs. The tongue weight is about 200 lbs. I got rid of my jeep once I realized the Rhino could do it. My Rhino is completely stock.
Don't put 26 or 27 inch tires on it and expect to get the same results.
Saw a guy using his rhino to launch a 24 foot Pontoon boat on Labor Weekend. I think that was extreme but the Rhino did it.

I would look at the other manufatcurers as well..the Polaris Ranger holds almost 3 times the rear "cargo" weight of a rhino...and kawasaki has its diesel mule...as for preventing spring compression...I wouldn't suggest that..as all you would be doing is transferring the load to other components..which could lead to failures elsewhere like broken ball joints and bent suspension/cracked frame mounts...
