Where is a good place to have a RD radiator repaired in the LA area. Also, it's mounted solid in the frame; is this the reason the radiator to started leaking? should it be rubber mounted or is it just a fluck it started leaking after just one season?

Good luck. I have a PWR that is one season old. I brought to PWR to have the very small leak fixed and they couldnt fix it. So now I have to buy a new one and mine is mounted on 2" rubber snubs.

The best way to fix it is to send it back to thier shop in Arizona. Thier turn around time is pretty good. Also mount that thing ong some type of ruuber or flexible mounts. I had the same problem and that took care of it

I have a Ron Davis radiator that got a small leak in the bottom corner. I could not find anyone in SD who would touch it and I did not want to send it back to RD during the season. So a little Marine Tex and back to the sand, still going 25+ trips later. Good Luck

First off what is marine tex? and where can I get it? I have two small leaks in both lower corners. The Radiator is out of the car so I want it fixed right...but it would be good to have for later.

I just repaired mine. I had several leaks, all at the ends. I just cleaned it with brake cleaner, put on a strip of masking tape to make a dam, and poured it full of jb weld.I got two of the large sizes of jb weld. I did one end, then the next day the other side. If you get the radiator and the jb warm, the jb will run around all the tubes. The jb is around a quarter inch deep. It's gonna get run every day for a month in a few weeks. That ought to be a good test.

Marine tex is similar to JB weld and can be found at boat shops. I did my repair process like Subie4me.

What do you guys use for anti-freeze in these RD radiators?
Could the leaks be a direct result of using the wrong stuff?
I haven't had any leaks as of yet (knock of wood).

^^^^ you should run 50/50 green Prestone and distilled water
Have`nt seen any buggy rads with electrolysis issues but it is a possible issue , make sure the engine is properly grounded or it`ll be tryin to send a ground thru the cooling system

A Alum. radiator will grow 3/16 inch at 210 deg F. If it is not rubber mounted they will crack at the tube braze joint due to the constant flexing. The epoxy repair has worked for me, I also put a vacume on the coolant pipe ofr 30 sec. to draw the epoxy into the cracks.
