Looking to buy a banshee. Found what I think is a good deal on one but it is a 1986. The bike is completely stock.
Was wondering if there has been major changes over the years, that would keep me from buy one this old.
It is the original owner who also took very good care of it.
Any info appreciated!

I believe the fist year of the Banshee was 1987. The only real difference is the earlier banshees had J-arms instead of A-arms for the front suspension. I am sure all the banshee bastards on this board can help you out

ACTUALLY THATS IS TRUE ABOUT THE A-ARMS TO J--ARMS BUT ALSO THE TRANNY ON THE 87 BANSHEE WAS THE BOMB. ITS MAINLY KNOW FOR ITS AWESOME TRANSMISSON IN THAT YEAR.I JUST DONT KNOW WHY THEY STOP PUTTING THEM FROM THERE ON. IT RAN HARD THOUGH

My sister has an '89 and it rocks.
It has J arms which aren't quite as strong as the A arms but not a real issue.
As far as I know there has only been cosmetic changes on the Banshee. Things like a different setup around the foot pegs... That's the only thing I can think of.
