Regulators? Oh no are you guys laying down some new rules on top of the BLMs
Sorry, just had to goof on your typo
If you guys do go out let me know....there's a good chance I'll be looking to head out that weekend to test something new.....the Pinto may even be ready for it's first test run (without paint) after the rebuild....but I've got a little something else I'm hoping may go through by then that I think I may have to give a taste of sand to

Ok, it's official. New car in my garage and I'm itching to see how it does in the dunes

I'm going to try and make it out there next weekend sometime for sure. Still a chance I'll have the motor on the Pinto running by then too but I can only fit one on the trailer at a time

Talked to sand cousin this morning and he's in too.
When do we want to head out? Friday?
Duke - call Hanks & Mcormick
Everyone needs to bring an inter-tube for Saturday's canal float. Sports Authority has them for $5.00.

i'll have to check and see if i have obligations first but i am having withdrawals for sure.i like the buttercup idea.there is that spot with the tall bush/tree might be nice plus the canal beach is a good idea.my neighbor across the street just got an alba 04 raptor.i'll see if he wants to cruise.his family may get pissed for leaving them behind, but i dont have room for them and they only have 1 bike.someone is gonna get
bored.
since its unlikely my neighbor will go there is the idea of using my trailer with your burb.what do you think?

Lets go to Buttercup. We were out last weekend and it was pretty hot. Makes it nice to be able to make a quick ride to the canal.
Bring some inter-tubes (5 buck at sports authority). We'll drive up stream, leave a car and float down.
Jerry have you talked to Bobby? Who else is going out?

I'm hoping to hit Buttercup friday or saturday evening for a few hours...if I can find someone to ride out with me. If you guys are going to be at Buttercup for sure let me know and I may come out even if I can't find someone to go along with me.
I'm dying to see how this Manx does - I'm still waiting on plates so I can't drive it on the street yet so the dunes are my best chance to put some miles on it and shake it down. I won't be doing much serious duning but mainly driving it around in the flats and small dunes to get a feel for it....and then if I like it we'll see about the real dunes

What a great warm-up for my weekend
You guys are great - thanks for the encouragement on the Manx and help with some lights so I could see my trailer loading up tongiht!
Can't wait for tomorrow. Finish putting the Pinto together in the morning - then about 5 head on out for some more sand - and this time I may even toss the paddles on the Manx and actually get out of the flats now that the motor is starting to wake up

I really wanted to come back out saturday but got tied up with work stuff and wasn't able to pull it off like I had planned
However my girlfriends mother ended up making it into Yuma saturday as well and has been dying for a ride in the dunes. So I went back out today and had a good couple of hours in the late afternoon

Other than some leftover firewood (that I helped myself to) there was no sign of your camp left so I didn't get to say hey to you guys again.
What a great weekend for dunes though! Getting to see buttercup in the daylight today was spectacular. I love taking first timers out in the summer since the dunes are so ripply and smooth!
It was soft though! I found out that I can't put my paddles on the Manx - the manx studs are too small and have special collared lug nuts to fit the centerlines that didn't fit my douglas rims for the paddles - and without them the rims were too loose on the studs. So I just had to make due with 5psi in my street tires.
The Manx did great today - found out that the temp guage is working I just wasn't even warming up Friday night

After a good trip out to the valley and some playing on the side of the hill I crept up to 180 and stayed there the rest of the day. It was kind of hard to start the motor when warm but other than that I had a great day. The Manx suspension is WAY smoother than my rail. A couple of times I'd tell my passenger to hang on thinking I'd bottom out (since it would be something my rail would always bottom out on) but we'd just float right over it! I gotta figure out what's wrong with the rail suspension for sure now.
Will have some photos soon, just gotta reboot my computer because it's barely hanging on right now and I can't even get to my card reader!

Got the photos up. Don't know if you GW guys have seen it or not...or if I even remembered to mention it Friday night but I help run a site called YumaDuners.com that's mainly dedicated to Buttercup and Gordons. We have Duner Diners on a regular basis (second tuesday of every month in yuma and final friday of every month usually at Buttercup or Gordons.)
Anway the reason I mention it is that's where I put the photos
Just click the Manx for a few shots of the fun I had today:

Well guys, the trip was fantastic! Mother nature cut us some slack and turned down the heat for the weekend. I don't think the temp. got over 100. The dunes were sweet!.
The ride on Saturday night was awsome. It was nice having Glenn lead so I could fully enjoy the ride. I didn't want it to end.
Jason. It was cool to meet you. It's too bad you couldn't make it back out Sat. night for the ride. After you left I wondered about the temp gage. I kinda thought it might not be getting hot enough to register. Oh well. You got it figured out.
Hope you can make it out with us again some time. The manx is sweet. If you ever want to onload it let me know. Maybe next time we'll get to see the Pinto beans
MC and Sandcousin. Thanks for the offer for lunch on Sat. Next time I'll be ready for sure :bandit:

I'll definately hook up with you guys again sometime. Didn't get the work I wanted to done on the Pinto this weekend but it will be running by October no matter what. Oh and did I mention that it actually is an official old school "Pinto Beans" adapter I've got on it

That buggy and motor where around for a long time before I got them!
