Does anyone know the size bolts used on the 2.0 Subaru motor mounts?

Thanks

Are motor mounts necasarry , or will it hold up just by the tranny bolts?

Thanks, picking up the bolts this afternoon. I personally just feel more comfortable having extra mounts holding up the motor, even a light weight motor like a subie or VW. I've had two VW cars both without motormounts break the tranny bolts which wasnt a pretty sight. So I'll never run a car hard without support from both the trans bolts and motor mounts.

My 2 cents

Yes, unless you have the money for a new engine burning a hole in your pocket,
engine mounts are cheap insurance. Plus even though a Subi is mostly aluminum,
it's still heavy when you consider the entire engine.

I would not want that much weight moving at all. Over time it could shear chassis
tubing or something else. Or break the trans input shaft or something else.

Remember the picture from an earlier post of a rear engine cars' V-8 in the dirt?

A picture is worth 1000 words.

Bottom line is if there's provisions for them, use them.

Oops, was replying to the question if mounts are necessary.

So much for paying attention to what I'm replying to.
