Can anyone tell me the correct way to set the tension when I install the new torsion bars?I have a Chenowth 4 seat car with a 3.2 acura. It seems like if I try to put a load on the bars then they are too stiff to even lift the arms after I connect them. wacko.gif

Set the bottom edge of the spring plate so that it lines up with the lower-rear bolt hole for the torsion housing cover. Then you can use a ratchet strap around the spring plate and around a tube above it on the frame, and pull it up until it's at the point where you can tap it in with a hammer so that it is sitting on the stop of the housing.

Use a strong ratchet strap and BE CAREFUL! Watch your fingers, toes, feet, etc.... If that strap breaks it could be ugly. But it's worked for me many times.

you might need to re adjust the bars also after a few trips ( i have seen them get a little twist in them) if the car sits lower re adjust the bars one more time. i draw a straight line on the bar when new so i can check it later for twist. and keep the right and left on the right sides. there should be a R and a L stamped on the end of the bars
