I am looking for information on air shifting setup simular to what drag bikes use. Using a air cylinder to run the shift lever. I have a friend who lost his left leg and is tired of riding a polaris. We were going to set up a banshee or a 400ex with a air shift set up for the dunes. Thanks for your help in advance. Wrench :burn:

I have a friend too who lost his left leg, rides a polaris most of the time and when he rides one of are bikes we made a shift arm for him, the shift arm bolts on to the shifter then up to the left side of the tank (you need to make some kind of holding bracket), once going he just stays off the gas and shifts with his left hand, when stopping pull in clutch reach over with right hand and put in naturel. The 2 stroke is a little harder as for the power band is real short, but the 4 stroke is much better.

Thanks for the help. My friend also has a Honda Foreman 450ES with the electric shift. He claims it is too slow and doesn't dune very well. The need for speed is what brought up this idea. Thanks again for the help. Wrench

Why not look into how the Honda ES system works and see if you could "red-neck-ify" one to work on another motor???

In process at this time, air system will hopefully be cheaper to build/purchase and simpler.

Oh right on. How much does Honda get for one of their setups? How do they work? I assume that since it's electric it's simply servos that could be modified to actuate the shifter. Am I on the right track?

Create more power out of the Polaris. I could of swore I saw a Haul ass Polaris out at Gordons last season. Looked ugly as a hell but damn fast.
