OK Fellas,

here's the plan for my bike... I wanna know what you think. I don't think I'll be able to afford porting it any time soon, because I guess once you port a bike you should extend the swingarm, and that means chain, brake lines, etc. along with it... or would it be feasible to port without doing the swingarm?? I'm afraid that this way I won't be able to keep the front end down when going up hills sometimes...

So, for now this is what I wanna do...

mill/shave the head for max compression without having to use race fuel

v force reeds

and drop a tooth on the front sprocket.

ditch the geckos and get haulers

What do you guys think this will do to my bike? Think it's a good way to start for now? Do you guys think I will notice a considerable difference?? I need your expert opinions... thanks!!!!!!!

I would go ahead and port it if you have the $. You will not need to lengthen the swingarm if you do'nt go too crazy on the porting. You will not believe the difference it will make . I had my head shaved and clean up porting done on my bike and it made a huge difference.

All the other stuff sounds good. We dropped a tooth on Carrie's front sprocket on her banshee and she loves it biggrin.gif, it makes it a lot easier to dune.

I'd port it also Sal. That is where you get the most HP increase for your buck after pipes. Extended swingarms are nice but not needed unless your making big horsepower or don't remember to lean forward.

Definitely go for the porting. I have my banshee set up with the port job, V-force reeds, cooling head and all that and still run the stock swingarm. If you have any problems pulling the front end up, just lean forward a little bit. A Banshee is meant to be wild.

Where do you guys get your porting done? I want to get mine done, but am not sure where to take it. I was thinking about taking it to Wicked Atv in Corona. Anyone have any experiences with them?
RICKY@RISDESIGNS

I've not dealt with Wicked because I ride a Honda 250r so I go to C.T.Racing for my work. But I have heard some very good things about Wicked and nothing bad.

Ricky, I didn't know you worked on bikes too. I thought you just did aftermarket stuff... You got a great aftermarket line I got most of it on my quad, LOL

YES WE DO ALOT OF CUSTOMIZING AND VERY QUICK ALSO. RUDY (OWNER OF R.I.S.) IS SELLING HIS BANSHEE.

BUT WE GET BIKE FROM ALL OVER. WE HAVE A 250R HERE FROM
EL PASO,TX. WE DO MORE AND GET MORE DOWN WITH 2 MECHANICS THEN WITH OTHER DEALERS WITH 10 +. ITS JUST THAT WE LIKE TO GET STUFF DONE QUICK. WE GET POWDER COAT DONE WITH IN 1 OR 2 DAYS AND CHROME 3-5 DAYS AND GOOD QUALITY. SOMETIMES IF YOUR LUCKY WE CAN HAVE THE POWDER COAT DONE THE SAME DAY!
THIS IS JUST A HOBBY THAT WE HAVE BESIDE THE AFTERMARKET PARTS BECAUSE THAT ALONE KEEPS US VERY BUSY

Cool Ricky it takes me about two weeks to get my chroming done and a week to get my powder coat parts back. next time I'll come see you guys. biggrin.gif

About a week ago I had a little spat with my chroming guy. He said that it would take two weeks to get my parts done and he was on time but I needed them sooner and he couldn't do it... Man that sucks when you're ready to install parts and you have to wait for the chrome pieces to be ready. >:<

NO PROBLEM biggrin.gif

thanks fellas, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna port it, then... it definitely sounds like the way to go.... I'm gonna take mine to Ted Boyko at Mission Yamaha... I've done my research on the guy and he seems to be extremely good at what he does....
