Kudos to Imperial Valley Press. The May 28 editorial tiled "Our Opinion: Ramping Up" was a wonderfully balanced piece that hit the nail on the head.

This editorial hit on a very important point. The off-road industry positively impacts the economy in Imperial Valley. It amazes me that enviro-extremists such as Daniel Patterson tend to downplay economic impact of their so-called conservation efforts.

It is one thing for thousands of citizens across the nation to petition to close the dunes. It is another for each of those same citizens to offer up financial support to make up for lost revenues if closures continue.
