For my birthday, I was given ITP sandstars and ITP 12 inch C series rims all the way around my YFZ450. does anyone else run these or at least more importantly the size? I know the size isnt what you want for drags, but I feel as if there is too much top end now. just curious what other's have done. thinking going down to a 13 tooth sprocket. 14 is stock (for nobbies and track), when I go to do a GP i will put on the 15 tooth (nobbie 10 inch) any thoughts?

I run 12's, not sure what brand they are. Never thought of changing the sproket on mine, I got plenty of power though.

If the size of the tire is the same then it shouldnt matter what size the rim is. The gearing is the same.

honestly IMO they are too heavy. I remember hearing all this complaining about geckos and other molded paddles being heavy and not one person has said anything about these 12" rims.
They look ok, but id stick with 10's.

A buddy of mine had those exact wheels pictured above. I think he bought them cause they were the most expensive. They look ghetto to me. He later regretted buying them.

"Low Profile" does not translate well for paddles in the sand.
Is a "Looks" thing.....Tire Flotation works where you have some actual sidewall.....

I like the fronts they take alot of the shock of the choppy sand and float better then the 10". The rear paddles are folding already. I think ill switch to scat trac's in the rear. I like my rims. Ill stick with the 12's. just change the paddles. They are taller then a 10 inch paddle. These are what I have

I dont understand, A 10" rim on the 22" or 20" tire will take more of the impact of ruts and what not more then a 12" rim. The bigger the side wall the smoother the ride. to some extent. Honestly id go to 10" all around, less rotating mass on the rear, less weight all around, and 10's look better then 12's anyday. Thats a personal opinion though.

The Sand Stars I have had weren't very smooth the first ride. They needed to break in so that they would flex easier. That may be your problem.
But I can only imagine what a C Series 12 inch weighs.
Heavy, I am sure.
