Thanks for all the info, looks like I have some surfing to do at work tomorrow. That single seater looks like a nice ride but I want a two seater. Cant have all the fun by myself

. What about a diff. in a mini or do you need to run just a straight axle. Also was curious about the honda goldwing....I think it has reverse.....wonder how that would work in a mini?
You can get a reverse diff, reverse, or just diff for your rail. try
www.jeffcotrtansmissions.com I'm running a reverse diff from another manufacturer right now, but it has broken down every single time i've had it out so I won't even mention their name. You could go with a goldwing motor if you want. Check the manufacturers links pinned at the top of sandrail tech, I organized the list with mini buggy builders so you can see what all is available. My reply is a few post down from the top...
Yoshi, correct your link!
...oh, never mind!!
www.jeffcotransmissions.com but it is correct....

lol

Goldwings dont have reverse gear. Quaif reverse box are good but $$$$$.
Goldwings use the starter for reverse. Most people think they have a full blown reverse but they are only built for short burst to back you outta a parking spot, not really for pushing 2 big paddle tires on a mini rail in the sand.
I think you should go ahead and get a busa powerplant in whatever you decide. It's not so much the hp as the torque that is more than any other bike powered rail. Shop around and you can find a really good deal on a busa motor and full wire kit..
