well i got it all tore down, and i thought i would do a build up thread updating with pictures once in a while,,, the first thing i need to do is repair the rear of the frame,, it is broke off and part is missing. tonight i did a little work on that , no finish work yet,,, just repairs,,
here is what it looked like before i started,



i got a used rear bumper off a quad that had the proper bends, it made it easier since i don't have a mandrel bender, i wish i did .. a few cuts and welds later it looked like this


then i had to build the grab bar mount for the other side it was easy since i had the other side to copy from, so a few holes and a weld later it looks like this,,, this all took about 1.5 hours so i am ready to do some gusseting around the back of the motor mounts next,,,

Got my battery/cooler rack mounted tonight, and figured out the bolt for the front wheel as mine was shipped without the danm thing. front wheel bolt needs to be 12" and the stock one was 10.5" ( 15mm bolt )

Hey , but heres something you might check out....

The rear tabs for the seat , I had to redo mine as they were set up for the fiberglass fender
which I have but I'm not going to use. If your going to put the stock fender setup on there you might have a look at that .

I won't have an eta on those triple clamps until after thanksgiving, as I will be at Glamis all next week.

ok well back to the grind stone,,, i boxed the lower side of the motor mount in tonight,,, i think from a combonation of big kids and loose bolts i see its all been repaired. i decided to fix it so if the kid in me decides to ride it a little rough it might not crack ......

them i decieded to box the top also to make it a little smoother looking and it will be stronger too.


so now i can do a little sand blasting i thing its ready ,,, should be rock solid now, i got some ideas for a grab bar ,,, maybe stainless,,, looks like an hour more on the time clock,,,

no pictures today, i sand blasted the frame and swingarm,, the next project is the frontend.. i am going to stay with the old school look and buils a triple clamp setup, it will be a leading axle mount for a little more stability ,,, more pictures when i start cutting parts,,,

well while the wife and kids are cooking the turkey i went into build mode, i started on the frontend today. i took 2 stock top plates and made a new wider top plate. i like the curves , you can see the fork on the right the way it was,,,

then i added a piece to extend the front axle a inch and a half foward,, to give it a little more stability,, if not i like the look better

well i got real busy and didn't take any pictures of the lower triple,, so you can see how i did it,, i wanted to stay with the old school look for this, i think it turned out pretty good so far,,, now for a little more finish work and get it ready for paint,,,

damn dude that's looking real nice. I too like the old school stock look on those t clamps. Very nice.

WELL i put christmas shopping off a few more days to get some work done ,, i painted saturday ,,and brought it home to start putting it together,, i went with RED ,, hmmmm i guess i just like red,,,, so here is what it looks like now,,,, the new frontend looks and works great,, so far i am happy,,, i ran out of paint so i am at a stand still till i get more,,

well things have been a little slower lately,, i been busy on other things ,, but i did manage to get the motor in and start hookin up things ,,, looks like a new throttle cable, and a new wiring harness complete with light wires is needed too,,, i am going to take off the foot brake too, its kinda useless to anyone with a shoe bigger than a size 1 and i would not be to proud of the setup anyway,,,

Kasey, thanks for the updates keep them coming, I have an A+ frame but need to see how they are put together before I start building mine.

ok,, well i got the wiring straightened out FINALLY what a mess,, got the frontend figured out, cleaned out the tank,, adjusted the cam chain, put in a new set of points, and it fired up on the trird pull,,, SHES A RUNNER,,, i got to do the chain,build a new pipe mount, and mount the front fender,,and build a grab bar,, and it will be good enought for the regatta,, i still got 1 and 1/2 trikes to go,,,

well this will be a final till after the other projects get finished ,, its ready for the regatta,, although i want to repaint the fenders and tank later and redecal it with all the original decals,,maybe some aluminum wheels and different tires ,,but for now,, it runs great and is sand ready ,,

well i am not worried,,, i have a sourse that scans several craiglists cities for me,,, lol
