Did anyone happen to hear about a girl named Danielle Bernard dying this weekend?
She was a friend of mine who graduated last year. There are rumors that she died in a dirtbiking accident in the desert (somewhere. no one knows where) this past weekend. I was just wondering if anyone heard because there are some rumors going around school that i wanted to clear up or something.
thanks for your help!
R.I.P. Danni - you will be missed.

Polly,
Her dad "Rich" is a sales man for out machine shop. I heard the news and it has struck all of us here. None of us knew her. We can't even imagine what her family is going through. We wish them all the best during these hard times.

Third person dies in off-road accident
Monday, November 27, 2006 12:16 PM PST
Another victim has died from injuries sustained in an off-road vehicle accident over the holiday weekend, making it the third death this year in Imperial County dunes recreational areas.
Eighteen-year-old Danielle Bernard of Lake Forest died when her Yamaha Rhino, a golf cart-type off-road vehicle, rolled and landed on her head and neck.
Bernard was traveling through the open desert in the Ocotillo Wells recreation area near Pole Line Road in eastern Imperial County around 10:40 a.m. at 20 mph, the California Highway Patrol said.
She was driving south down a dirt embankment when she attempted to make a sharp left turn while still accelerating, the Highway Patrol said. Officials said the Rhino overturned, partially ejecting Bernard causing the vehicle’s roll bar to land on her head and neck.
The first victim during the holiday week, Abbey West, 13, of Imperial died as a result of a similar accident, as the off-road recreational golf cart she was riding in overturned causing the roll bar to land on her head and neck, the Highway Patrol said.

thank you for your help guys! Today was a rough day to get through. Everyone kept calling me for info (for some reason. I haven't talked to her since August, but they expected me to know) and so I just wanted as much info as I could.
She was a really sweet girl, who will be missed by everyone. Our senior class is a little shaken up right now - two weeks ago another student who graduated last year died. :-(

Sorry to hear about the loss of your freind. I was at superstition this past weekend at the 5.5 marker another young lady driving a rhino flipped and crushed her legs. I own a rhino and know how easy they are to flip.(had it on two wheels) I think Yamaha should offer a riders/ drivers course just like they do all their other bikes. From what I have seem people seem to think there just like driving a car or truck. Hopefully something good will come out of this and Yamaha and the other side Xside manufacturers will start offering the courses.

http://www.glamisdunes.com/invision/index....showtopic=92232I had to reply on this post I saw the 18year old (Danielle Bernard) crash the one that she was driving in ocotillo wells 2 days after thanks giving(by the way thanks giving was her birthday). I was 200 yards away. She was coming by our camp and made a hard right hand turn when it filped up & over When I got there was nothing that I could do. She had hit her head on the hard pack she was bleeding out of her mouth and nose even with the 5 point seat belt tight and after market full sport cage. She had all of her riding gear (even her gloves) but no helmet[u]. All I can say that it is a off road toy and it can kill you I’m so sorry for her & family that I found out who she was and even went to the funeral. Please be safe.
This is the post that i wrote about it. sorry about the lost she way a great person.
