Shawn, any info on when it'll be announced? When's Honda's annual dealer meeting? I love my buggy in the sand, but I'm jonesing for a dirt ride, and a red 450 would be just the ticket!

I was told it will be announced in Sept. 03' . I'm not holding my breath but I am crossing my fingers.

Poiks I was talking to Allen at CT racing and he is supposed to be test riding one soon. He test road the new Yami's before they were released to the press.

Shawn, relax. I don't care if Honda, kawaski, Suzuki, KTM and 63 Chinese companies come out with sport quads. It only makes it better for all of us. Which one will be best, again it doesn't matter.

Now as for trailers, only WW will do.....

hmm, we been hearing these rumors for 2 years now. honda has blown it i think. they were opn top of the game when the 400ex first came out, but they have been lapped big time once the craptor and the z400 came out. if honda does come out with a bad ass quad like that new yami, i would have to ride it before i even thought about buyin one. i wished i had rode a 400ex before i bought it, it was a fun bike, but not what i really wanted. i rode the predator 500 before i bought one, and that bike has everything i wanted but didnt get from the 400 ex.

I heard the same a few months ago from a guy that does wrenching, who was aware of at least one test rider for it with the same release date of 9/03, so let's hope tis true. I just hope they go bigger than the 450...

But does it have a couter balancer?

i dont know about anyone else but this bike looks like a fake. like someone is pullin a prank on us... is this thing real?? if so ill take one that way i have the best bikes from the two best brands. i still dont like the colors of honda. that yellow has to go.

didnt know companies were doin this. thats interesting. wonder they are compared to the late 80's hondas far as all around performance.

They also sell a CR250 with a CR500 motor.

ehhh see poiks i like hondas new 450. i rode my bros and that would be the dirt bike of choice for me. lots of power for my fat butt. i just really like the 450 alot. havent ridden the yami 450 but i like the honda

I LOVE MY OLD 250R, I've had 2 of them plus an ATC. They are so wonderful and fun and dependable and good looking and light and great handeling and and red and white and blue and still out there kicking it hard and easy to maintain and this and that and the other thing and did you sleep well last night? I did because I have a 250R in MY garage. Sleep well! :rant: :rant:

One of my buddies has a mildy ported 92 Banshee, and a piped '86 250R. The Banshee is his, the R is his wife's. The Banshee is much faster. To my surprise, the guy is planning to sell the Banshee and keep the R. He just loves the way the R feels, and is willing to give up some power to keep the R's handling.

You're right, I had an '02. It was awesome, even for my fat butt. But I had to sell it to buy the buggy.

It has always been my observation that anyone that rides something with 4 wheels doesn't really know how to ride anyway. :shock:
Also, how come the only Yamaha that can pass me up any hill has to have a drag pipe on it? :shock:
Seriously, my 1985 250R seems to hold it's own quite well against those $10,000 4 wheeled sticker packages. Not saying it's the fastest, but it sure ain't 10 grand...looks like it though.

All kidding aside, The 250R is the 250R. The Banshee is the Banshee. When I feel like being comfy and lazy, I'll ride my friends Banshee. :vader:

By the way, I've seen a certain Kawasaki Tecate kill every Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, etc that went up against it...it's not always in the Badging.

Ha Thats a good one, but its not April Fools. Your 250 R being a three wheeler is about as fast as a piped banshee. No more, no less. You Honda guys are so delusional when it comes to Banshees.

I have also witnessed many banshees and hondas getting beat by a tecate. Surprised the hell out of me.

I know were they are riding the Honda 450 as I type! Looks like it might be out before September!

I heard from the wize old owl that the new Honda wasnt going to come out until all the 400EX's were sold. :roll:
